Lemmings are understimating Resistance 2

Gears 2 still needs to prove that it can create a (the first Gears had no story...) story for the single player campaign with a decent length (lol at 5 hour single player campaign) . Resistance had it all , it just needed "the sweet details that make games even better"

Its so amazing how you know that, seeing as how we know basicly nothing about both games.

The subject line of this thread could have just as easily read: "Cows are overestimating Resistence 2."

The only thing that could make the TC's opening statement complete would have been to type the obligatory "and that's a fact" after his pile of opinion-vomit.

I dont think I am underestimating a generic shooter that is only played because there are no other good shooters on that console. After playing the game you just know how truly generic and un-special resistance is, it just doesn't do anything new or anything very good. Theres just nothing you can really say about the game other then it has average everything.

Really I could care less if my shooter game has a story.... I really only play online, and play the story maybe once and never again. Why would you want to when you can play online?

I dont see why ps3 fans praise it like its an amazing shooter or something, because really it isn't. I guess playstation fans just aren't used to the fps genre, so mediocre games look good to them or something...

There was actually nothing amazing about R:FOM. It was a solid game nothing more nothing less.

Gears was a big smack in the face by the bad ass stick. The more you play it the more you love it.

It'll be an amazing game and an amazing shooter, but I don't think it'll end up being GOTY or anything like that.BioShockOwnz

That was the perfect summary. I know it's going to be amazing but Resistance 2 is coming out during a very competitive year.

So exactly what was special about Gears OF war:

Same tactic by pressing A ->Run duck shoot

Same kind of enemies -> Locusts with different guns, ones fatter than the other(One with the rocket launchers). No brumak fight for 360 version, and only versing 1 Beserker at a time, only bringing a totaly of 2 beserkers in total in the whole game.

Linear direction -> getting from one end to another, sometimes choose alternative path ways but ends up leading to the same path in the end

GEOW2 will score well, but many will find it over rated much like Halo since its the "same thing" all over again. GEOW is a good game, but not something i would give AAA title. NG2 deserves the AAA championship, and as for Resistance 2, well, i havnt played Resistance so i cant say anything about the game.Before people start saying "Oh have you played GEOW2?", no i havnt, but knowing Epics style of game(taking Unreal series for example), the gameplay will more or less be the same with extra tweaks.

RFoM was very good, but not great. The story was decent but not exactly Oscar material, and the MP was slightly unbalanced. The alien team had the ability to go into a rage mode making one on one shootouts uneven. Also the mode I found to be the most fun on paper, the meltdowns(where one team battles another over multiple node controls) always ended up with a bottleneck of 16 people defending the last node, making it almost unpenentrable causing games to last up to 4 hours long. The lack of a unified headset made communicating near nonexistant, and if Insomniac was smart they would give one away bundled.

If it wasn't for these problems I would have liked RFoM 's online more the gears and If these issues were fixed it could be the best online shooter of 08, but I have to see it to believe it.

I doubt Gears 2 will feature 60 player MP , 8 Player Co-op and 2 different campaigns...

gears 1 had 4 v4 and it absolutly demolished resistance 40 man multiplayer

resistnace is a noob shooter geras is for skilled players

Gears of war only scored so high , because when it was released , its graphics like no other game... and thats not the case anymore...

that must be why lair got a 4.5 and heavenly sword and uncharted got an 8?
