I never said it was minimal benefit as an exclusive. I just think multiplats offer minimal benefits when it comes to moving consoles. I have said it for over a decade now, that nobody bases their console buying decision on multiplats.

No seriously, while I agree with your overall point, I do see a huge difference between a game going to the PC and a game going to a competitors platform. A better comparison would be Sony getting Bioshock. People say "Who cares" when a game goes to PC because really, who cares? Cows like to make it seem like an issue, but to the vast majority of console gamers, what is on PC is a non issue. That's why you don't see lemmings crying when a former exclusive is announced for PC, but some cows are talking boycots and such. It is obviously a big deal to some cows.

Bioshock was never a 360 exclusive, it came out on the same day as the PC, So wasn't exclusive. I would say losing Final Fantasy XIII to the 360 is alot worst than losing Gears of War and Mass Effect becasue those two were exclusive when they came out. The 360 and PS3 may come out on the same date, that is a major difference.

Also the cows had been rubbing it in the lemmings faces that they will never play Final Fantasy XIII on the 360 and that FFXIII can only run on the PS3.

You are right, but looking at it wrong.

It is true that exclusives are what you look at when making a purchase. Or to word it slightly differently, you look at what games are on a system that you can't get on the other, and decide which games you would rather have. Final Fantasy and MGS4 are big ones that people looked at as SONY ONLY. Now that one of them is out of the equation, people are going to look at the fact that 360's lienup is better respected on average and many will choose that. MGS4, Ratchet, Uncharted, and Resistance vs a whole lot more on 360. Yes, I know everyone won't think the same when looking at the lineup, but on average more people would like the 360 lineup based on what is currently hot in gaming.

losing FF13 as a exclusive to the ps3 is a massive dent in the sales of ps3. Alot of people were waiting to get a ps3 on the basis of getting ff13 on launch day. If you asked a ps3 fan a year ago what games you were looking forward to in MOST cases ff13 were at the top of the list or near the top. Now its going to 360 :D

letting a game go multiplate does not mean they have given up, it doesn't mean anything other than they are smart enough to know you can't pay a company to "not" make games....its a waste of money.

instead they decided to keep that money and instead use it to grow there empire and make "more" games since so many companys were scared to do it starting out. plus sony already knows how to make them and make them good.

in the end it will come down to which "console" is better, not which games it has. multiplates will continue to flow and will increase because ps3 sales are soreing. meanwhile sony will be making the exclusives.

we already know games can be made just as good on the ps3, that is a FACT. so console to console there is no doubt which one offers more value. which is why ps3 sales are growing. if you already bought a 360 and it hasn't RROD then nvm.

Bioshock was always multiplat, Gears and Mass Effect came out on the PC at least 6 months after the 360 launch.

How so? I've heard Sony fans play the "All Xbox 360 so called exclusives are on the PC and therefore not exclusive." (Jimm895 just proved my point.) When really they are. In order to play PC games, you need to have an operating system (XP or Vista) to run those games, who owns XP and Vista? Microsoft, therefore you still paid money to (around $100-$200 if you currently have Vista) Microsoft to play games. And going even further you payed Microsoft Money for 1st/2nd party titles such as Halo PC or Gears of War PC.

Sony said the only started outselling MS in October of last year in Europe, North America is a virtual tie (and after the spanking they got last year, a tie is nothing), and with the huge difference in install bases, MS does not have to pay anymore. They are in the driver seat. More installed, higher attachment rates, easier to program for, and online code provided by the console maker. Sony NEEDS to pay to combat those.

The games you just listed are all Games For Windows games, incase you didn't know MS made Windows....

The only exception to that is Bioshock that is being ported to the PS3.

Scenario A: MS gets a number of PS3 franchises to go multiplat for whatever reason. MS 1st/2nd party titles stay same. MS library increases. PS3 exclusive library goes down. Sony 1st/2nd party titles stay same.

Scenario B: MS does not get any PS3 franchises to go multiplat. MS 1st/2nd party titles stay same. MS library does not grow. PS3 exclusive library stays the same. Sony 1st/2nd party titles stay same.

I agree but lemmings are soo silly saying ps3 is dead when losing one exclusive that isn't that big to the casual market, ps3 has already taken europe and japan from 360, the question is can 360 make a comeback outside of NA

Comeback? The 360 is winning in WW sales. As long as the 360 is winning in that category, nothing else matters. And yes, FF13 is big to the casual market. You wouldn't be saying that if it was still ps3 exclusive.

Reality check - the 360 is only winning in terms of total WW sales. IN terms of head to head sales, they are in last place and have been in last place since the PS3 and WIi launched.

Why do you think MS is dishing out all this money to buy all these games suddenly? They've even been losing in NA this year...the market they rely on for 60% of their total sales.

Here are the facts. The 360 is losing its 10 million console headstart and is now, at best, only 5 million ahead of the PS3. The 360 has been outsold by both the Wii and PS3, world wide, since they launched. The 360 has lost 4/5 months in NA, its single biggest region, so far this year.

Suddenly, Rockband 2 is timed exclusive. Suddenly FF13 is multiplat, but only in the two regions MS has a fighting chance in (NA and Europe).

You think that is all just a coincidence?
