Lemmings- How many of you have have said this game is the greatest..?

Halo. 

How many lemmings here have posted their opinions stateing Halo as being "the best?" TBH, I have never seen such threads around here, the last thread I saw where someone admittedly said Halo has the greatest story to him, he got flamed for 5 pages. That is why I rarely see Halo fans post about Halo here. I find it annoying how fanboys use the same worn rendition of an arguement "The lemmings praise Halo" which some probably do, I fail to see a problem with that especially when that is not the general consensus.

Whats even more pathetic to me is that whenever there is a new game for PS3(Not so new to some), it gets instantly hyped by cows as being the juggernaut of the PS3 game lineup, "The Halo killer", "The Crysis killer"; etc. Haze and Uncharted are prime examples of desperation, some even going as far to say that Haze looks better than Crysis or saying Lemmings and Hermits have been owned by Haze when its multiplatform..Uncharted is a game that many first saw in March via GameInformer mag its nothing new, so why insta-hype? MotorStorm is a past example of cows over-hyping a game which failed to deliver.

As for Hermits, I have found them to be very hypocritical these past 6+ months when they blame Lemmings for hyping Halo out of this world, which is refutable, they have been doing doubletime for Crysis. To console gamers.."What other games are coming out this year for PC?" I would'nt be surprised if the response to that would be "Crysis is the only exclusive PC game this year" In way of Hermits, Crysis is a 10 in visuals and a 3 in gameplay. What other than turning your gun sideways w/blur background is Crysis doing new? I have'nt the slightest clue.(:P) Aside from technicalities Crysis does'nt appear to be anything new, something about Aliens landing on earth and like always, you must stop them before they take over and something about Asians.

Still, despite other fanboys and their BS, cows are still by far the Illogical kings of SW. I especially like how some say TLHBO when the game is'nt even on a Lemming platform this time around(Halo 2)..The game scored a 9.4 on its home console and a 7.0, 3 years later on PC that is "The holy grail" of FPS, yet TLHBO? Is'nt that self ownage to those who think that...? How does that relate to Lemming ownage? The game has been played A BILLION TIMES(LITERALLY) yet 3 years later it still outscored its hyped rival Killzone, why are cows Hyping KZ2 again? In my opinion if anyone has been owned, its the Cows..in a hilarious way.

Halo is the console FPS to beat... every "Halo Killer" wants to take Halo's place as the counterstrike of the console world, something that I simply don't see happening. The Xbox LIVE service is a big part of what exploded Halo 2, even when Halo was still popular as a LAN game, and via tunneling software. Halo 3 is going to be (well, judging from preorders, already is) huge, and there's really not a console game on the horizon that threatens that status.

It is odd that Halo gets bashed by the same people so desperately looking for a "Halo killer", though I'm actually more annoyed with the Xbox fanboys hyping "Fable 2" as a "Final Fantasy" killer - completely ignorant, especially when the creator of Final Fantasy is making *two* games exclusively for your system (Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey) with some help from the artist behind Chrono Trigger.

Even if I did'nt like Halo, I would'nt flame you, its your opinion which is hardly harmful compared to anything. As much as people hate Halo what other FPS on consoles since Halo CE has been as great, memorable..? I can't think of one. What it comes down to though is preference even with the existance of opinion majority will say that nothing on consoles stack up to Halo.

Thats what I like about Halo, its balacnced enough for hardcore competition, yet easy enough for anyone to get into. It does what it was meant to do very well indeed.

ok i havent ever really gotten into the story. i played halo 1 single player for like 5 mins i woke up or something this guy was talking to me next thing i know im setting up my shield then im running around trying to find my way to some other guy. it just didnt interest me much. but no shooter does really i just think shooters are pretty much boring.

not saying they are boring just for the heck of it they just dont interest me much. for one thing i dont like just running around shooting people i would rather have a sword hide behind a tree come out behind the tree cut the other ninjas head off or something. would rather have a action game rpg game or beat em up. not bashing halo its jut not my thing.

What does fable 2 looking better than Crysis have to do with Logic? It's opinion..not logic, it can't be proven that Crysis looks better to someone over Fable 2. I'm here alot more than you and has been a member far longer than most people on here today, so I think I know what im talking about. StarCraft 2 and Halo Wars are'nt out yet, they may be equal they may not be either way, in this case its opinon & speculation, not fact/logic.

Did Half Life 2 do much different from the original half life? If you discounted the gravity gun it's the same gameplay mechanics with different graphics and a different story. Did it flop? Did it suck? Hell no.

Halo 3 has little touches like the deployable equipment, the movie maker/editor, but it's essentially the game as the original Halo with the same gameplay mechanics only with better graphics and a different story. Is it going to suck? What made Halo so awesome? Oh yeah, the gameplay.

Stop crying you fanboy, all sequels work like this, live with it.

If my post is a pointless rant then why take time out of your life to post in it? You have better things to do no? Be gone already, I've given my opinion on fanboys here accept it, it won't change. And they can hype whatever they want to, but when they pass statements off as fact that conflict with other peoples opinion then its illogical to me, no matter who its coming from. If you can't comprehend without using your 'tunnel visioned' mind then you will also see that I was'nt bashing them for having an opinion but for bashing Halo fans about hyping when they hype every morsel of information that is in their favor, thats hypocritical to. I have to stop you here. There's this curious mentality amongst Lemmings, Cows and Sheep. It goes something like this.

'I cannot attack Crysis' visuals. Therefore, I'll attack it's gameplay. I don't know much about it's gameplay, therefore I say it's bringing nothing new to the table'.

You pretty splendidly demonstrate this in the bit I quoted.

If you'd actually take the time to do some reading on Crysis, or even visit one of Baddog's Crysis gameplay threads you'd see it's actually bringing quite a lot new to the table, or at least attempting to.

This includes: non-linear free roaming gameplay, dynamic and consequential storylines and gameplay, full weapon and person customisation, fully destructible environments, large scale dynamic battles and intelligent AI.

In fact, from what we've seen of Halo 3 so far, Crysis appears to be bringing more to the table in terms of both visuals AND gameplay. 

Well, I would never claim halo is the best game ever, but I would argue that the story and atmosphere are among the best in the fps genre. I don't know why someone would get flamed for 5 pages for saying that, I can easily understand that people have different opinions but seriously...

oh and PC will always hold the claim to best graphics, because you dont have to wait every 5-7 years to upgrade, graphics improve almost yearly. not to mention bigger ram.

Played halo 1, was good, 7.8 material. The story was good, but inless you had known some of the story to start with you were in the dark about exactly what was going on. The multiplayer was good for a while, and then it got old. One of the things that killed it for me was people saying how great it was, it just made me think about its bad points.

Played the beta, some interesting things in there, but really its just same old ****. I will be buying it, but only for the story.

Why would halo 3 have to do anything new? Halo still stands as one of the best fps's ever IMO, changing it too much would only result in it not being halo. If we're talking about sequels that don't do anything different, how about Starcraft 2? From what I've seen right now it looks like a new SC with better graphics and some new units but not much else. And everyone's still going crazy over it.

i think Halo is a joke compared to Unreal or Half Life. The series is over-rated in every way possible. Unreal makes this game look like a joke, and im sure Unreal 2007 looks and plays in every way better than Halo 3.RazMaTaz-1

Half-Life is God though, and I do agree that it's far greater then Halo.

The multiplayer side is fun, too, but all of it feels overshadowed. The PC has more than its fair share of amazing shooters that blow Halo 2 away in every possible way,

thats why halo3 will suck. atleast compared to pc fps'

HALO is the greatest game of all time. guess why? Because after all these years it still is the game to beat. But even that doesnt matter, it's because I think so. I choose to like the game, I have my own mind, and could care less how many fanboys missed out on this extraordinary expirience because of their blind hate. Still the game to beat? Mabye on consoles, but halo was beat by pc games before it was even released. 

I say it all the time. I haven't even played Halo in a year and a half and don't even remember much about it. It doesn't matter. Halo = the best ever. Period.

As for Hermits, I have found them to be very hypocritical these past 6+ months when they blame Lemmings for hyping Halo out of this world, which is refutable, they have been doing doubletime for Crysis. To console gamers.."What other games are coming out this year for PC?" I would'nt be surprised if the response to that would be "Crysis is the only exclusive PC game this year" In way of Hermits, Crysis is a 10 in visuals and a 3 in gameplay. What other than turning your gun sideways w/blur background is Crysis doing new? Other games? Pc is currently leading the AAA exclusive list and most AAA titles this year. Seriously when is the 360 getting AAA exclusives THIS year?and don't give me an excuse that the best 360 games are yet to arrive, because the biggest pc titles are all yet to come out.  

I think Halo is definitely not the greatest game I've played. That spot goes to fallout, or maybe Half-life. And for those saying that Crysis, Halo 3, or MGS4 are the greatest games ever, please actually wait to play them before saying that.Codename33
