This thread is about the 360's hardware, not it's games or anything else.

The 360 is a piece of crap hardware wise. You lose 60 dollars because you moved your console and it scratched your disk? You can't move your console anymore? The pathetic thing is that lemmings will defend the 360 and blame it on the person. What console scratched disks because you moved it? NES? SNES? N64? Gamecube? Wii? PS? PS2? PS3? Genisis? Saturn? Dreamcast? V-smile? None of those. I've knocked my Wii over at least 10 times with games in them, and look, their fine! And then of course there is the RROD...

Don't even try to defend it or Microsoft or the 360, because you can't. There is no excuse for such horrible hardware.

So its now 10 down from 20 in the other post...

Scratching discs started happening WHEN THEY STARTED USING CD's. I haven't scratched any of the hundreds of games and dvd's I have place in my 360.

I find this hard to be a complaint about the 360's hardware. The failure rate, yes, but not the scratching of disks. I have no idea if the Wii or PS3 scratches disk because I don't like to move my console while it's on because there is no reason to. I know, I must be weird for not doing that.

360 clearly has the worst hardware, but then again it has the best software, making it the best console.

Why again would you want to move your system once it's on?

And it warns you not to do that right on the system. Learn to read if you're one of the people that moved it anyway.

I've had mine since march of last year. No probs so far. Only time I've ever moved my console when it was on was during a LAN party when someone got caught on the cords, and still no scratches. Maybe people should stop being stupid with their consoles.

-RPGamer-

By accident. My Wii falls over all the time because of the vibrations when jumping around playing Guitar Hero. And since some controllers on the 360 aren't wireless it would be very easy to pull a little too far and knock it down.

Nah, your just bitter because your parents won't buy you a 360

And as far as 360's are concerned, most of my friends' 360 have never gotten RROD. And who in hell moves their consoles while disc is playing, just out of the blue? Unless, you're an idiot kiddy 10 year-old.

The 360, unlike the Wii, is pretty heavy. It'll be very hard to move it just by jumping around with a controller.

Unless the 360 is heavier than the average person playing it then it would still be easy to knock over.

If I am correct, the 360 wired controllers, including guitars, have a detachment system so you can't really pull the console over if it does sit vertically.

Disks getting scratched aren't a real common thing unless an unnecessary thing is done.

I did by accident, didn't scratch my disc though. Playing a pretty intense of game of Halo3 and i was stuck with the wired controller, tipped the thing over.

had one trade in...my new one works fine, now. the RROD is being researched and corrected, once and for all. Microsoft has indicated its customer service by extending the warranty to 3 years.

for the record, the PS2 did have a number of disc read errors when it launched. nothing near the error rate of the 360, but still quite a few.

EVERY! system that has come out that plays CD's or DVD's advises removing the disk from the system when not in use. Its in the directions for every system. I worked at BEST BUY service department and every system that came out has been returned to best buy for scratched disks. PS2 was the worst for this problem and we had to advise users not to use system on its side.

Extending the warranty is avoiding the problem, not fixing it. Personally if I had a 360 I wouldn't want to have to wait a month to get it back every once in a while.

A very mature response for someone that is above those idiot kiddy 10 year olds.

It's not kiddy, it's called reality. And in reality, nobody who's that mature or even has the slightest hint of intelligence in regards to pricey hardware, would even move a heavy 360, while disc playing just out of the blue, accidental (rarely the case) or not. My friends' 360s are placed neatly and orderly in thier enterainment shelf just below their HDTVs, so I don't know WTF are you talking about.

1. what type of educated person moves their console from vertical to horizontal while playing...? is that MS's fault?

2. How can you even defend yourself as a human being if your tipping your console while playing...?

3. Why would anyone tip a video game console in the middle of playing a game...? did you hit pause and then do it? or did you try it while playing? the sheer physics of it are incredible...

4. Please stop venting about your mistakes on this forum... it is your fault....

Why again would you want to move your system once it's on?

sexy_chimp

By accident. My Wii falls over all the time because of the vibrations when jumping around playing Guitar Hero. And since some controllers on the 360 aren't wireless it would be very easy to pull a little too far and knock it down.

Put your high priced electronics on more stable areas, and just learn to take care of your stuff. It's sounds less like a hardware issue and more like a user issue. My wife gets into play GH too, but she never even came close to knocking it over (and of the systems actually).

They're just trying to justify their purchases.

There's nothing wrong with that unless they claim the Xbox360 to be the best, or put other consoles down.

[QUOTE="DaysAirlines"]Haven't had a single problem with my 360, how about I defend my 360 that hasn't had any problems? I'll do that.sexy_chimp

had one trade in...my new one works fine, now. the RROD is being researched and corrected, once and for all. Microsoft has indicated its customer service by extending the warranty to 3 years.

for the record, the PS2 did have a number of disc read errors when it launched. nothing near the error rate of the 360, but still quite a few.

Extending the warranty is avoiding the problem, not fixing it. Personally if I had a 360 I wouldn't want to have to wait a month to get it back every once in a while.

then don't buy one, fanboy...they are fixing the problem: the warranty extension is an assurance in the meantime. i'm going to go play mass effect and assassins creed now. btw, when my first one broke, i waited exactly 6 days for a brand new unit.

don't even try to defend Sony or the PS3 because you can't, there is no excuse for such horrible 3rd party support, and losing some high profile exclusives like GTA IV, Resident Evil 5, and DMC 4.

For starts, name consoles that aren't game cartridges.

and the original PlayStation was notorious for scratching discs without moving the system.

your thread FAILS

I shouldn't have to do these things because consoles shouldn't be as faulty as the 360. Have you ever had to do these things with any other console?

Yeah, yeah I'm a fanboy for discussing the undeniable flaws of the 360. I'll be getting one sooner or later anyway. And from when I heard the problem won't be fixed until Winter 08 or around there, but that was just a rumor.
