Lemmings:360 is not producing better visuals than gears.Why?

It's been a year now and still games like ME only look on par with gears but not better.And remember i am talking about the technical side of it.I guess it is safe to say that gears indeed realized 360's potential and it's graphics wont improve anymore.Well a little sad but that's the way it is.Thinker_145

Though IMO Gears is still King, some might say: Bioshock and the up coming M.E. have equaled or out done it.

The bigger question however is: Why is that supposedly mighty PS3 with higher price tag and launched one full year after 360 not able to best Gears ? :lol:

Alan Wake, Fable 2, Warhound, Project Offset

All 360 exclusives, and there is nothing even MILES close to them on PS3 future list, how about that for starters ?

Also Assassins has big tearing and frame rate issues on PS3, and not as bad on 360 at all

Having worked on Xbox 360, from a technology standpoint, how much more do you think the system can be pushed with future games?

I think there's plenty of room to push and experiment when it comes to physics and AI and real-time lighting. I think we've only scratched the surface of what we can do with gameplay as well as the 360. There's far more potential down the road to do more stuff. As amazing as I think Gears is, and my gut tells me I still love playing it, I think we have a really incredible experience; I think we'll definitely push it further if we get around to dong a new version in the future.

Unless you're a developer who truly knows what he/she is talking about, you shouldn't make such claims. I highly doubt that the 360 has reached it's potential. I vaguely recall reading an interview with the developers of Gears, and I'm pretty sure that they noted that there was still much more that could be done with the 360.

I'll see if I can find it, and if I do I'll post a link.

Only people with no knowledge of game development believe the the x360's potential has already been maxed.

UT3 already looks better. I guess it's smart not to pull things out of your a**.

Times equals money in development which means the more time you spend on the graphics then the less time you spend on the game other aspects. Look at Heavenly Sword with great graphics but a really short game that never sold very well. Motorstorn had good graphics but they missed out half the tracks in that game.

When i buy a game i dont just look at the graphics. I look at how the game play, the length and value of a game, if it has multiplayer option it has, how the AI plays and if there is any fault and glitches.

I enjoy Motor GP games. The last one only had good graphics but the offline and online gameplayand physicswas great, AI was good. The different option of playing through the game was great.

Ok i have one simple question for you and everybody.Name me a SINGLE console in history that didnt have a game out in it's first 2 years which realized 90% of the graphical potential of the said console.

Anyways we havent seen the 360 version yet.No discussion on this possible unteil we see the 360 version.

Anybody that believes Gears is going to be the best that the 360 can do graphically isn't really all that smart.heretrix

Anyway, I would personally rather have the system's potential realized early on and have a bunch of great-looking games due to easy development, rather than waiting 4-5 years and then finally getting a couple games that look better than anything else on the system.

When you think about it, that very fact simply illustrates how hard it is to develop for Sony's systems. It's high praise the 360 is easy enough that a bunch of developers have come out with games that equal Gears, a game developed by some of the best 3D game engine programmers in the world.

360 has been out for 2 years now and nothing that is on a whole new level than gears.Sorry but mass effect looks lightly better and that's it.Infact gears has better textures.
