Lems, a little reminder about the games YOU all hyped AAA before August 06

I remember Over G.

Guilty gear halo (or something along those lines) hyped it. Lol.2 Hyped AAA games getting High fives.

That's funny, because for every cow bashing 360 thread there were, there were three Lems bashing the PS2 back then....too funny. This site has NEVER been friendly to cows EVER. It started as a PC ONLY site, and from there on took the refuse from other forums.

Cows simply will NEVER own this place, as there are better places for them to go too....and rightfully so. Cow Domination always ends much more sooner than any other factions, and that's since I before I finally made a name here and gave my first post. I used to just cruise around.

Either way, the PS2 was the WORST CONSOLE EVER in it's GREATEST PWNING PRE 360 YEARS, and it got no slack. If anything, the 360 is the new PS2, and you don't see the TIDES a'changin'.

Again, that's due to the fact that Cows aren't welcome here. Just the nature of the site, the mods prefs, etc.

The loud cows did exist, but they were just LOUDER, the Cow population wasn't bigger back then...lems AND/OR sheep will always outnumber them.

Blazing Angels was definitely hyped, as it was again for the PS3 (heheh). Over G Fighters, as well. I remember the excitement in the 360 forum leading up to that game's release. It wasn't anywhere near the same as for something like Geras or R6V, but for a while a large number of threads just before OGF's launch were devoted to OGF's score speculation.

And yes, N3 was also definitely hyped to be AAA.

I will have to admit, however, that most of the hype for these games came because E3 had just happened and lems were riding high following Sony's embarrassment.

N3 was NOT hyped AAA you're just saying that because you heard one or two people say that.

I have been saying that for the longest time and no one ever listened. This is why I have no sympathy now that the Cows are on the recieving end of the bashing. Prior to E3 06, the PS3 was the ultimate console that would singlehandedly halt the production of the 360 instantly and blast the Wii out of existence before it got going. According to theCows around here that is.

I don't even know what OGF is... at all. And I'm here about thrice a week... so that's not hype.

Also, I remember the N3 hype thread, like 3 people hyped it AAA and everyone else said the demo sucked. If it's not in the official hype threads it doesn't count. Go kill yourself.

Yep, I see your point and agree.

PS3 needs time, as does the Wii, to be great. Devs just need to get used to the console and we'll end up seeing good results. Later this year both have great games coming like Uncharted, Haze, Heavenly Sword, GTAIV, SMG, SSBB and MP3.

We dont really have to get into this now do we?

Just because a game doent get AAA doesnt mean it isnt good. It just gives a idea of when we should buy the game (Full price or bargin bin)

And we live in the new age of the multi plate.

But if we most go into system war standards then none of those games list were worse "ownage" then Zelda TP and RFOM.

And both were very good games.

People seem to be forgetting that within 7 months, The 360 had 2 more AAA's than ps3, as well as 5 AA games outscoring Resistance. The only reason lemmings hyped more games AAA was the fact that there were more games that looked promising that were coming out for the 360.Codename33

Over G Fighters? This is a joke, right? I doubt anyone seriously hyped this, maybe fakeboys to make lemmings look bad, but thats about it.

PREY deserved the AAA hype, hell it scored AAA on IGN. Yes, it flopped here, but that doesn't mean it didn't warrant the hype.

Battlefield 2 was hyped AA, and people knew it wouldn't score much higher. The game is a port of a decent FPS from last gen, why the hell would anyone hype it higher than AA?

Quake IV had some hype, but not AAA.

Call of Duty 2 scored about the same as the majority of the hype predictions.

Dead Rising and Chromehounds were both hyped mid-high AA and Dead Rising pulled it off, Chromehounds didn't. Big deal.

This thread is a waste of bandwidth.

N3 was hyped long before the demo was even released on XBL. Its hype plummeted AFTER its release in Japan, but it was released in Japan in April. The demo was only released in July, but before its Japanese release it was definitely hyped.

Lemmings were as starved for games as sheep and cows are now. And for any console, having fewer than ten AAAs (under the old GS review system) means that that console has not hit the big time yet.

No.. Quake 4 was never officially hyped as "AAA". Show me the thread for proof please. Condemned wasn't hyped as "AAA" either. Most people didn't even know what the game was going to be like. CoD 2 & Dead Rising were hyped. N3 was hyped during the E3, but it died down before it even was released in Japan. I agree, it was hyped as "AAA" during the E3, but definitely fell to "AA" status before it was released in Japan. The majority of the forums didn't hype Chromohounds & Prey as "AAA". There may have been a few individuals who hyped it as "AAA", but most Lems shut them down and say these games wouldn't be "AAA". Motorstorm & Resistance were hyped as "AAA" from the beginning. Motorstorm may have dropped that status after the demo, but at the E3 they were both hyped "AAA".
