The six axis was a complete waste of time. Sony created it very quickly after seeing the Wii's motion sensing. Now MS wants to do it too. I am probably not going to use it but at least they've had more time to prepare and will learn from the mistakes of Sony.

I'm not a fanboy i like all 3 systems but no i think motion sensing controllers would be g@% on the 360 and it wasn't good on the PS3.

i reckon, like many people have said, only implement it in games where it IMPROVES on the experience... because say in a racing game a force feedback wheel is so much better than motion sensing, so they should keep the wheel, and in an FPS, you could, no, SHOULD have complete control customization. in fact, that goes for every game.

and they'd better not make some weedy hardware or else. and NO MINIGAMES.

also i reckon that if done properly could really kick start console RTSes ;)

Only if it would be used for certain games. Like, for example, if a star wars game came out where it comes with a controller to swing around for it would be really cool. But I don't want MC for every damn game.

I don't not like the motion sensing in my PS3 controller, so taking it a step farther isn't going to get me to buy the new controller.

no the sixaxis controler is good it just the dev's that made it bad. warhawk, rachet and clank, folklore, uncharted, resistance, even lair to me felt epic had no problems. i loved shaking the heads off those beast. sixaxsis does its job when done right.

no because i play games to relax and have some late night fun. if i want to stand while i play i go out side and play with my children or some sports. i don't need to stand infront of my tv lol then i would have to raise my tv on blocks because at that angle you can't see my tv need to be eye level.

I like how the Sixaxis is being used in games as more of a side-item. I wouldn't really like a game built completely built around motion controls the way Wii games often are.Lab392

Agreed.

I don't like motion control though, to an extent. Like the PS3 for example, has motion control but doesn't utilize it too much like the Wii.

I made a thread a few weeks ago stating an opinion that in the next gen, Xbox 720 and PS4 will have motion sensing controllers as the standard. Most replies said that if that happened, they'd leave gaming forever or move on to PC. Yeah...I'm sure that if there is a Halo 4 and it has motion sensing as standard next gen, that lemmings will never buy it "because of teh awful motion sensing!" And if there is a MGS5 for PS4, and it has motion sensing, I'm sure cows won't buy it either...

Only if it accents the experience. I'm fine without constantly doing excessive arm movements. Sure it works on wii because some games are based only on using motion control, but those games are often best done as short mini games. MC adds to the experience, but it can also detract from it at the same time. Like in Drakes Fortune, the six-axis was used like twice for a balance tool as you cross a log. It was totally useless.

It's better than the dual analogs for the shooters, for sure. Imagine playing Command and Conquer 3 with a pointer on your 360.

Ehh. I'll take dual analogs over motion sensing any day for shooters.

I compleatly agree, the motion sensing doesn't have the accuracy that the analogs do

I'm sure he was talking about the pointer function which is alot faster and more responsive than regular old analogue sticks.

Not at all, I don't want my 360 or PS3 to end up becoming victim to another saturated market of lazy gimmick games that the wii is polluted with.

I laughed at the SIXAXIS at first for its motion sensing, thinking how obvious it was they were just trying to copy the wii (badly), but I've actually ended up loving it. It doesn't dominate the control system, the majority of games get by without it, but now and again it will pop up as a neat, well-considered addition to a title that really adds a little something. Folklore, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Uncharted strike me as excellent examples of using the Sixaxis as a neat addition to the gameplay, and not taking the wii-route and making it dominate (and 9 times out of 10 subsequently ruin) the experience.

actually the best wii games (critic-wise) are the ones that don't make excesive use of the wiimote like SMG, brawl... even nomore heroes has you using regular buttons for "standard" attacks. metroid prime 3 had some REALLY good heavy use of motion sensing though
