What are you gonna do after you pay for the DLC for GTA4 and you get the RROD?

http://www.n4g.com/industrynews/News-110398.aspx

So much for the better version!

ummm, won't it still have the better version regardless of the RROD? I don't see what hardware errors have to do with the fact that the xbox360 version is superior to the PS3 version.

This is also the reason I laugh when people talk about how drm is the future instead of blu ray or other means of "hard copy". There is just too many things that could go wrong. DRM will never be the leading source of items. Only 34% of Americans who have internet (and its only like 61% of the US have a computer) have high speed. Of that remaining 64% who have internet, high speed is only available to 19% of them. There is no way that digital downloads can appeal as a mass market item. Then add into them these type of problems. Its simply laughable.

Funny how it is the persons fault for sending his HDD with his 360 when the info sheet that came in the replacement box said not to send it and so did the customer support people.

And all he has to do is go to his download history and redownload everything anyway.

Its saying that if you download it, and you rrod and they send you a new console, you are SOL as the dlc wont be able to be used with your gamertag.

You're confusing DRM with digital distribution. DRM stands for Digital Rights Management, which is a broad term for various security features designed to stop piracy. Digital distribution is the term for online services like XBLM and iTunes that sell digital "copies" of content rather than physical copies.

No, I am not confusing them. I know they are two different things, but one does not come without the other. A form of DRM will have to be used on any kind of Digital Media to ensure you dont download it and give it to 1,000 people.

How original. And yet, even though I'm on my second 360 (I originally had a launch console), my 360 still gets a lot more play time then my ps3. So good luck with the whole thread thing, but I'd like to see more effort in the future.

I have had my 360 since Dead Rising came out, but I am starting to get a RROD every now and then. It seems to work after being reset, or being allowed to cool down. Different for different people though i guess.

As far as gta goes, do you think I should pre-order? It's usually hype, but GTA Vice City was one of those games where even teachers were bunking off just to buy and play.

My first 360 got RRoD and I had a few arcade games on it.

I exchanged it for a different one under my warrenty at Gamestop. But I only exchanged the console and kept the HDD.

I just popped in my HDD and everything worked the same.

You can download DRM free content. Off the top of my head there's iTunes Plus, Amazon, Zune (not counting the subscription service) and Walmart. All offer DRM free music. Also Stardock Games doesn't include DRM in their products. While many DD services use DRM, not all do.

Doesn't bother me. I have a Best Buy which actually honors the PRP that I purchased along with it, instead of shipping it back to MS for me. I took in my old broken 360 and received a brand spankin' new one, plus money back on my account since the price was lowered. Woot for me. :)

Bingo. It's all the 360 haters can use as their ammunition.

What are you gonna do after you pay for the DLC for GTA4 and you get the RROD?

So much for the better version!

That's a pretty pathetic argument you cows have when you concede that our version will in-fact be better than yours and then you have to stoop so low as to suggest that all 360's will get the rrod even though the newer models have clearly solved that problem. Nice try.

And according to Gamestop standards are you still waiting for your first AAAE? 360 RRODs. You send it back you get a new one in weaks. PS3 doesn't get a AAAE. You wait a year and half until MGS4.

See I can fight a fanboy comment with a fanboy comment if I have too :|

Just wait actually affects a game library. How does RROD affect the amount of good games on a console. Congratulations on turning this thread into something that it wasn't even supposed to be.
