Lems milked again! Sony will allow PS3 headsets to work with PS4

The upcoming PlayStation 4 console will support previous generation PlayStation 3 wireless headsets, a Sony official at San Diego Comic-Con told Polygon.

PS4 consoles will still ship with their own mono headset in earbud form comparatively, late last month Microsoft confirmed no Xbox One headset will be included in the base system of the console as the system will instead emphasize Kinect-driven voice inputs. Unlike PS4, previous-generation headsets will not be compatible with Xbox One controllers due to a new headset adapter port.

PlayStation 4 is slated to release this November for $399. Sony is debuting the console during this week's Comic-Con International: San Diego, giving attendees the opportunity to go hands-on with the next-gen system.

We've reached out to Sony for full confirmation and will update the piece when further information is available.

Sony gives you a headset for free, but gives you the option to use your old ones if you have them. Thanks Sony!

ms gives u the option to use kinect (which is greatly improved in that area from what i saw) or use an adapter to use a 360 mic.

Yes, an adapter.......... you have to pay extra for.

Not really much "ownage" when you have to pay for something in order to use the headphones. If they just straight out let you plug the old ones in even that wouldnt be owning them because it would be just doing the exact same thing with no advantage. But in this case you cant even do that, you have to buy an adapter. So no, no owned going on here.

I dont know about you guys but I am not comfortable communicating through kinect. I'd rather have a headset.

What irks me the most is that I have a set of Tritton Warheads that won't work.  I guess it is my fault for assuming they would allow the wireless headsets to work.  Hopefully whatever adapter they are working on will make these work.

I never got over Microsoft charging $100 for a 360 WIFI adapter add-on or a $100 for a 250GB 360 "internal" Hard Drive that attaches to the outside of the unit.

The equivalent PC versions are like $15 (WIFI) and $55 (HDD) respectively...

Such a monumental rip-off.
