Right because games are based on Graphics?   Im not saying crysis wont have gameplay but just because it has graphics doesnt mean it will be a great game.  You havnt played it yet so you dont know if it sucks or not yet.

lol no, but you would think by now they would show us some decent pictures . i mean 2 and half years into dev time, and they are still showing us ugly pics. i know halo 3 will be better looking, but why even bother with ugly pics. either show us something to be excited for or dont show us anything. alfy13

Maybe they just don't expect people to base their entire opinion on Halo 3 graphically on a single joke picture posted on a weekly update blog?

nah the pics we have seen around xmas time looked like halo 2 with some what of up graded graphics. it was nothing special. If ppl like valve, epic, ID and others can show good pics 7 months before release, you would think bungie can also. So they either needs to show us something to be excited for, or show us nothing. its a waste of time looking at ugly pics that doesnt look any better then halo 2. if i want to look at halo 2 , ill go play it. alfy13

The time pictures are released depends on the games development process. So companies work on graphics first, then optimise the game to get the required framerate. Others, get a fully working game then add the graphical touches. A good example of this is Forza 2, it looked like **** 2 months ago, and now the new screens look a hell of a lot better.

If you didn't think the screens from Xmas looked better than Halo 2, then I want to see what scans you were looking at, because they clearly did. Even though the graphical touches wern't there, heck, even the 1up team when they saw it months and months ago said it looked significantly better than Halo 2.

The pictures they showed were to do with stacking fusion cores, they are hardly reflecting the final quality of the games visuals.

Anyway, as I said you'll be the one eating your words when Halo 3 comes out, not me.

They've dropped a warthog on a load of fusion crates on what looks like a test enviroment, how does that in any way reflect the quality games current state? The level doesn't even have any lighting effects enabled!

Why would they release. They said themselves people are gonna be surprised so maybe they don't want to show off how it looks so when it comes off people bashing the graphics will backtrack what they said...
