Lionhead Studios don't fear! Sony is here!

Very cool move... I'm gonna show up and talk a big game, just for the wine and cheese.

This is what baffles my mind.. Companies do this.. And people here are acting like what Microsoft is doing is unprecedented and Sony has never done this before.. When in fact if there is a company that has laid off more in the past years it is Sony when they had a huge reorganization of the company in dropping out of industries they once competed in..

More like a PR opportunity than anything else, just like with Indies and the slogan "Sony <3 Indies". But they might want to team up Media Molecule with them as they used to be in one and the same company.

I didn't admit anything of the sort. I said every year TLG was talked about being released THAT year. This happened year after year after year yet YOU want me to believe they weren't working on it? Whatever I really don't care about TLG. This thread is about cows thinking Sony is coming in to save the day when this is nothing more than a PR stunt. They're not giving them jobs, they're having a job recruiting event. That in no way shape or form guarantees anyone a job not to mention MS already said they're going to try and place them in different divisions if so desired.

You can go on and on about TLG for all I care.

It does count if you consider Sony spent most of that gen behind both Nintendo and Microsoft.

So, what is the message? Its fine if Sony closes studios to save money when their systems are struggling and they are not the top dog in the market but if Microsoft does the same thing, they are suddenly evil monsters who are out to screw over gaming?

Sony, Microsoft, and even Nintendo have closed down studios in the past. This is nothing new, and its funny that so many people are acting like Microsoft is evil for doing it.

Just one question, especially to the Sony fanboys. When Sony closed down studios last gen, did you blast them for cutting jobs? Or did you defend the move? Because a generation ago, the roles were reversed.

I didnt see Cows excited to having Lon Head, they are pointing and adding salt to the fact that M$ closed that studio and that Sony is making M$ look worse in the process.

This isnt about getting excited and wanting Peter Molyneux or Fable.

@BigShotSmoov007: actually a tweet is probably one of the best ways of getting them to know : is not like Sony have a list of the Lionhead employees, how else could they let them know? It's not like they're standard jobs that they're advertising at their studios, it's an event just for them.

Sony are far too generous. The people at Lionhead closed because they are talentless. This would do more harm than good to the PS brand.

Any company is smart to try to cherry pick of assets of a company. But you don't see Sony trying to buy the whole company. Most likely, the best people have seen the writing on the wall for a while and have left the company, which creates a faster moving downward spiral.

Most are at Evolution.

Seriously what did you expect, MS was throwing them money like crazy to make the best Free-to-play game ever and they failed miserably.. They were given a nice Game engine plus alot of money even a caveman could do atleast a 8.0 or better game with all the tools that were given.

MS did good enough to kick their arse, Sony are just taking the best talent of a failed game developer, not that hard to do.

Can't have it both ways kid because at least I know sales for the X1 will come out sooner or later but NOTHING official is coming out for the PS3 and 360. Oh sure the whole point of my argument is you can't win both arguments,so yeah if you go by official numbers the PS3 loss,now you can claim new numbers for the xbox one are coming but the reality is they may never come,specially since MS decided to use Live numbers as measurement now.
