Little Big Planet is definitely not AAA material.... AM I missing something?

People refuse to face some basic facts about this game.

1. Professional game developers with college degrees and years of experience in gaming have a hard time designing good levels.

2. As much as hermits brag about the "mod community" they mostly crank out garbage or copy old ideas

3. This game doesn't really provide a whole lot of variety in levels judging from all the videos shown so far

4. It's frigging sock puppets

I think the best thing to come out of LPB will be rip offs of old Super Mario and Sonic levels.

The way I see it is. It will likely get at least AA for being original. However, I don't think it looks appealing to anyone other then middle schoolers. Then again, maybe it will suprise me.rimnet00

imo its A, it'll be fun for 4 hours then u start messing around with it, get some freinds try to your map, they dont; like it, so they make there own, u try them, so on and so forth, it'll take up time, ppl will play it, but it won;t have much fun value until there some good platforming levels and even they only last 16 minutes till u beat them again...the game will last forever, but it won't be fun forever, it will go thro fun droughts...lol LibertySaint

^^ This pretty much describes the appeal of all level-editing games that I've played - they're fun for a few hours, but then you'll only play it when you're totally bored.

It looks uninteresting to me. I hate the art style and the actual platforming mechanics look pretty generic to me. And user-created content is usually as inspired and creative as the users themselves (i.e. not very).

PS3 has much-better looking titles on the horizon. I don't know why the Cows are hung up on promoting this one.

You have low standards for spectacular. You linked me to a bunch of substandard rip offs. Like I said this is the best you can hope for LPB.

My point is if making great levels was so easy then there wouldn't be such a glut of complete garbage in the platforming genre over the years. Not that college degree=great game.

Depends on how much you like level/map editing. I know I'm not into such games, but there's definitely a crowd who does.

Im not really interested in what biased gamespot rates it. I understand that about 75% of the gaming community at the current moment wont like a game thats not a FPS but a game with this many original ideas and endless creativity after you open the case deserves every bit of hype its gotten.

I'm guessing you haven't seen anything on LBP for a long time, haven't you? I've seen some variety from watching it on Gametrailers and Youtube and this is a game where you can do anything. Variety is limitless. 2-D, however, maybe still be unchanged but does it really matter? Not to mention that it's still being developed.

Why do people give a damn about Mario? He's a frigging plummer. Why do we give a damn about shooters? The main character is just some frigging muscular guy with frigging armor that frigging regenerates. Hec, why do we give a damn about gaming? Go play a game of Pool why don't ya? :? Before I get accused of being a fakeboy my PSN name is MP5.

I wouldn't care if this game is the third AAAA on this site. I have no desire to create my own levels, in what appears to be a level editing 2d platformer. Super Paper Mario showed how much fun the genre could still be, yet this game in it's current form is not appealing to me at all atm.
