If people are into gaming, you arent into gaming to save money. You are in it to game and game on what you want to game on. If people want to spend that kind of $$$ let them. That is what companies like....people spending $$$$

No matter how you look at it...360, PS3...its all really a ripoff...all of it.....So does it really matter which company rips you off?

He's saying that giving the consumer a choice with this Elite version of the 360 (like they do with the PS3) is a good thing. Sony gives a choice too and that's good. Keep in mind, the Premium is still being sold (lol and will probably be selling more than the Elite) and so is the core (although this should be scrapped and the Premium put at it's price point). As someone who doesnt own any next gen system I think this is great. I want a xbox360 and for 80 bucks more i get 120gigs and hdmi with a hdmi cable its all good for me. Im gona wait at least 2 years before moving on to High Def dvd. It seems like Blue ray will win but who knows ill wait it out and enjoy buying that stuff when its cheap. Till then my elite will upscale my dvds and thats good enough for me. Now I play my cousins 360 all the time xbox live is great, and the current and future library are just amazing. Idk if this makes me seem like a xbox fanboy but Im sure as hell not. IMO right now is just not a good time to buy the PS3 its not about the price to me its just that theres no games that interest me ffxi and msg4 is all I want out of the ps3. Im lucky that my cousins owns both systems and I get to play them both but no ps3 game right now has amazed me enough to wanna go out and buy one.

 The ps3 will be great in the future, and im sure as hell gona buy one. I just dont understand why people who own a ps3 right now are so quick to bash ms for this move. Ok 480 and people will be playing a crap load of games while current ps3 owners are playing 3-4 games tops and enjoying their blue ray movies for your extra 20 bucks. Well all im really trying to say is MS making the Elite was great news for me a new buyer everything I NEED in the box. The ps3 will cost me a bit more and has extra features that I dont need but will def be a great buy in the future. I think everyone should own both systems to really enjoy this amazing time in HD gaming history. Go get your game on people!

While I personally don't agree with the price (it should be $400 and the other two should drop), I still see the big seller being the 20 GB model. You could spend the extra $120 and get a PS3, but most people still don't care about Blu-Ray. Only the hardcore gamer, who don't want any next-gen DVD format, will get this.

I see this as more choice though. Choice is what people want, ultimately. I personally wouldn't release this Elite if I was in charge, but it wasn't a bad move. It just makes MS alienate their customers a bit.
