What's this...I don't even...
On top off that, it looks like they're charging 50$ for a propiatary USB cable
First off, the only extra thing you need for the Kinect with an old 360 is the external power supply thats included with the Kinect.
Secondly, its not an MS product, the price is ridiculous but if this is meant to be a "lol lemmings gettin milked lololol thread" its pretty weak.
Edit: But ofc this being SW people will come in, read the OP's misleading post and next thing we know there'll be dozens of "lol Kinect costs 200 dolla cos it needz extention cablez" threads.
lol at all the people that actually think that Kinect for 150 wont be shipped without a cord that will work. Laughable at how people are grasping at straws trying to discredit Kinect.
[QUOTE="wolverine4262"]its an extension cable. MEANING, you dont need it unless the distance from the console to the device is far...KevinButlerVPhttp://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/14/original-xbox-360-requires-separate-power-for-kinect/ it seems this is the "separate power brick" they are talking about WOW. You couldnt be more wrong. The extra cable required for older consoles is INCLUDED with kinect. ALSO, its pretty obvious by looking at the pic that the male end is compatible with the female end. This makes sense b/c its an EXTENSION CABLE!

Do you understand what a Powerbrick is ... ?
I don't think it's required. This is a link I've found and it talks about it allowing for dual-band wifi connection. Best thing we can do is wait for the product details to show up on the gamestop page since it gives no information at all besides price.
No... basically you are completely wrong...Ouch...
So basically Microsoft is forcing everyone to either upgrade to a slim console or shell out an extra $50?
Gxgear
yup, that is why I said I was not sure if you need this to play it on the original 360. I was just pointing out that it is listed for 50$I don't think it's required. and what has begun, you being wrong for thinking that you cant play Kinect if you buy it? lol
WOW This is just epic lol facepalm worthy :lol:GamingZuruTC starting this topic not knowing what a extension cable is? In that case it is facepalm worthy.
nope no confusion! cows have hit t right on the head once again. in fact many people will need to buy 4!!!!What's with the confusion?
This isn't the power brick/cord for Kinect. It's simply an extension in case the power cord/brick isn't long enough to reach the console.
lundy86_4
omg!!! kinect is $350!!!!
teh milkage!!!!
While this extension cable thing obviously isn't a necessary purchase for anyone, the thing to take away from this (if the price listed is accurate) is that MS is charging $50 for a cable that probably cost them about 50 cents.
EDIT: Actually it's made by PDP. But would anyone put it past MS?

haha very good point.
it looks like owners of the old 360 might have to pay 50$ for an extension cable to play Kinect, thats a lot of money extra on top of 150$ bringing the total to 200$ for people who own the regular 360. not sure if this is true, but so far that is what it looks like with the extension cable http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=78197KevinButlerVP
Looks like you need a charging station for the PS3 Move
http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?sku=804179&affid=9797
So what does that make the price for Move?
$30 for the charger
$40 for the PS Eye
$ 160 for 2 moves and sub moves
=$230
The hell are you cows even laughing about?
Looks like the Kinect defense team is in full force today. I'm still trying to figure why all of a sudden people are embracing motion controls.
Gxgear
lol I think the Kinect hate team was in full force but they fell on their face and we are just all laughing.

I can really care less about kinect but in TC's case if you're going to bash something at least know what you're talking about lol.Looks like the Kinect defense team is in full force today. I'm still trying to figure why all of a sudden people are embracing motion controls.

lol at all the people that actually think that Kinect for 150 wont be shipped with this. Clueless if you ask me.
lundy86_4
Is there any guarantee of that? Or are you just assuming?
yes I have heard MS say that Kinect will work with all consoles. I also see that this cord isnt made by MS lol I mean come on.
