I'm 32 years old and have played a ton of RPGs with Oblivion, Blue Drgaon, and the FF series on PS2 as my recent favs. I gotta say with all fanboy goggles asidethat even with ME's imperfections it is the finest RPG I have ever played. Storywise, dialogue wise, mature wise, action wise, and graphics wiseit is top notch. And if you're into Sci Fi you'll wish ME was made into a film. Seriously, I'd like to see a RPG with better writing. The work here is stellar!

Well Deus Ex scored 8.2 here and it's one of the best games ever created. You should really play games and make up your own mind. On system wars it's a flop but that doesn't mean it isn't far superior to any Final Fantasy game, which it is.

Ah comparing WRPGs and JRPGs is silly..

I love my rpgs, no matter what part of the planet they reign. WRPG.. JRPG.. Korean... etc etc. It doesn't matter.

The thing I am most disspointed is in somthing that I did, or more correctly, did not do. My final time was around 16 hours, which felt around 30, but I barely even touched the side quests, the love plot being one of them. I would guess that around 50-70% of the side quests were unfinished.

Mass Effect is amazing though, better then KOTOR imo which for me is an amazing accomplishment, being my second favorite game ever.

Gamespot literally made a factual error in the review that they haven't fixed, even though their policy is to fix those types of errors immediately. Review wrote:

"However, the Mako's turret, for whatever reason, can't move up or down."

That's factually wrong, because you can move the thing up, down, left, right, everywhere. I'm not even sure how he missed that. It's a big deal too because the stuff with the Mako vehicle is the main reason he knocked the game down.

Everything GS said is correct as far as I understand, but the fact that Mass Effect, being everything it is, didn't score AAA is beyond me. There could have been more tech issues and AAA would be understandable. Yes the Mako is a bi*** to drive, yes it is limited in firing angles, yes there are framerate issues, yes there is abundant texture popping. But DAMN is the entire package great! Damn!

Not really related to the topic, but its just silly, petty arguing that will never resolve anyway, so meh...

I've noticed I have a hard time going back and forth between ME and SMG. I'm not comparing them or saying one is better than the other, they're both of extremely high quality. Just saying that they're like polar opposite games that have been difficult to play in succession, and I have trouble going from playing the serious, deep, sci fi tone of ME, and then playing the silly, carefree fun of SMG. It's almost like a certain mood is required to play either classic game...weird

So yeah...back on topic - ME>>>>>God:P

I am glad someone else noticed that. I was disappointed when I read that on the review, but when I played the first mission using the Mako, I had no problem using the turret's. Only thing I could figure was that he was trying to shoot while going down a steep mountain side. That is the only time the turret didn't work for me, and I really didn't expect it to work.
