LOL at people thinking PS3 will finish last

The 360 is THE best console to own as of right now.

Its cheaper than the PS3, and at a reasonable price.

It has the best games and stomping the competition in softwarewith there AAA's.

... But why isnt the 360 selling 10's of millions of consoles (sold 12 million so far?) in the time its had so far and its obviously the best console out there. The PS2 had sold 40 million in the same time frame the 360 has had.

Because 10's of millions of people are waiting to upgrade to the PS3.

There waiting for the price to drop and the major system selling games to come out. And guess what,the PS3 is going to do both in 2008.

Price drop: $300-350 next year

As you have said your self sonys main catalogue is only 3 games and the rest are new IP's that need to be reviewed to be believed.

Sony getting another price drop is really not gonna happen anytime soon they are loosing money with the PS3, making it cheaper will only rip more thread ou of the pocket untill a hole is created.

The PS3 might not finish last, but Sony's dominance in the industry has ended.

It all has to do with the fact that the PS3 is dead last right now with no signs of that changing anytime soon.

2 years after the original PlayStation launched it sold a total of 15 million worldwide. Xbox 360 isn't doing too bad, considering it has little support in Japan. It's main set back this year was the RROD problem, they had to cut down shipments from 15 million by Q2 to just 11.6. They then had to address the problem and so on.

I will say, the PlayStation 2 had Grand Theft Auto 3, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy X and Grand Turismo 3 all in 2001. Just in time to kill the Xbox and Gamecube launch. Grand Theft Auto 3 has the biggest game, and one of the most important video games in history and it was exclusive to the PlayStation 2. Obviously things are much different this time around, you have to pay attention to the situation.

You put too much faith into the masses, they're a fickle bunch. If you recall Nintendos fall from grace you'll agree with me.

In North America anyway the consumers memories are about as long as a goldfish.

The key word in your statement is that millions of people are "waiting" to upgrade to a PS3 and this is where Microsoft and Nintendo are pouncing.

While people are waiting for games and price reductions Nintendo has basically released most of its heavy hitters (Metroid, Zelda, New Super Mario) within the first year to snag those Sony folks who are "waiting"

Microsoft has also churned out the software to do the same thing, While I don't think Sony will langish in last by a huge margin the margin between them and the other consoles has everything to do with when they want to start releasing software that people want.

I said a year ago that I felt that of the 150 million console owners last generation we would most likely see a 70/40/40/ split between all three consoles and I still think that is the case,

Seems like you need to spend some time learning how this industry works. And SW is not the place to get this knowledge.

Again, looking at history, there is no reason a console with hardware deficiencies cannot become popular.

You might have a good argument as to why the PS3 doesn't deserve to come last, but you don't as to why it won't come last.

Yea i know but i meant that with ps3 you know you will always be guaranteed those games, also 360 is for the american gamer, in my country resistence is ahead of halo 3 in sales, ps3 are selling like mad. With ps3 you get the best driving games, gran turismo, F1, best fighting, tekken 6, best stealth and action, mgs4, best looking first person shooter i've ever seen, killzone 2, god of war 3, final fantasy and many more. 360 games don't have as much impact here and is why 70-80% of 360 sales are NA
