I'm expecting ps2 numbers sold at the end of the ps4 cycle, what about you?

Sonys factories are going to be running flat out to manufacture enough PlayStation 4 hardware to meet demand, Sony Europe boss Jim Ryan has said.

Speaking to EDGE about the demand for the console, Ryan said, Factories are going to be running flat out the way demand is looking.

Theres an awful lot of core gamers out there now and we will be selling to them certainly in this part of the world.

Sony has already secured over one million pre-orders for PS4  a figure it could struggle to fulfil for launch day.

Lol. I just hope the quality of the hardware doesn't diminish as a result of mass producing with a deadline.

Thats what normally happens. Sony has to tread carefully to avoid a situation like the RROD.

When people say this, I get the feeling that they have no idea what happened with the PS2 and why.

Anythings possible, but I doubt the PS4 will pull another PS2.

Yeah doubt they will get a pass like MS did with RROD we might even see something unprecedented like a product recall. Anyone getting these consoles at launch are taking a chance on them crapping out early so getting extended service plans is a must.

Anyone have any idea how long it takes to build one of these consoles? I know Ford makes one vehicle every 10 seconds.

I don't really expect any next-gen console to surpass its predecessor.

Preorders are a terrible way to gauge long-term success.

doesn't matter because i don't buy consoles at launch anyway.

i usually wait 6-12 months and by then there should be plenty in stock.

I don't expect the PS4 to do quite as well as the PS2, but I do expect it to break the 100 million mark.

It shouldnt diminish, since the factories only assemble it, they dont make the parts (each part is made in another factory by another company)
