The Xbox360has sold 11.45 million consoles (abouts)

The Wii has sold 12.03 million consoles (abouts)

Halo 3 did according to this sell about 2.5 million copies during it's first week. 1,25 million pre-orders and 1,25 bought first week. That is a new record.

However, it only pushed the 360s hardware sales up with 125 000. Which means that Halo has to keep going like this for MORE than 7 weeks to beat Wii. (Since Wiifrom before had higher sales.)

Is this possible? Yes, but very doubtfully.

This post ALMOST, but not quite, come up to the quality of

this looks great for Xbox360, right?

The gap between Wii and 360 isn't a margin of millions( at least I don't think it is) since the 360 launched with the head start. The article makes it damn obvious the sales are clearly related to Halo 3.

Halo 3 has a lot of selling potential. Japan has proven to be a large part of actual buying market for the Wii which the 360 has practically nothing. The impact of Halo 3 will not be greater then the course of Japanese Wii sales over the course of the gen period.
