MGS, the greatest stealth/action game in the generation before last.

MGS2, critically acclaimed masterpiece that amazed players with a fantastic story, outstanding gameplay, and superb voice-acting and orchestra.

MGS3, improved gameplay, delves into the history of the legendary soldier, Big Boss. and although it did flop, Kojima came a second time, fixing past mistakes and won the respect of the GS staff once again.

Kojima never makes the same mistake twice; MGS4 WILL be a critically acclaimed masterpiece, from the story, visuals, and gameplay, it will all shape up to garner a score of at least a 9.6. anyone who denies this fact has obviously never played any of Mr. Kojima's works. the man is brilliant. also, no MG game has never been critically acclaimed; heck,  MG started the genre. there's no doubt in my mind MGS4 will be the greatest game of all time.

To me however, it isn't worth $600.  I want it, yes, but it wasn't even on the konami 2007 release date a while back, and ff13(which will b cool) weill be released later in 2008 too.

I wouldn't say that this is filled with facts. Also, GT4 was definately critically acclaimed. Did it achieve an AAA score because of this? **** no.

I honestly think that the word "fact" should be banned from SW. It's used so wrongly here that it has lost all meaning.

Anyways, Metal Gear Solid, your "greatest stealth game of all time", scored 8.5 here. Especially considering how little we know about the game, there is no way of being sure of a AAA score.

MGS was good but it does NOT live up to the hype in any fashion what so ever. The greatest stealth/ action title of that genratio nwas Theif. MGS does NOT even rate.

MGS2 was Horrifically BAD. A ps1 game with a minor graphics upgrade & less advanced gameplay & level design. This game deserves no more then a 6.9 at msot & that is beign generous. THis game sucks.

MGS3 TANKED at retail. Konami's website claims 3.6 million worldwide but in North America thsi game was a commerical disaster  that was completely & ut terly IGNORED by everyone except the hardcore sony audience.

MGS:PO - THis game was also a commerical disaster. #6 PSP game indec 06 upon release on the sales charts & no psp game hit the top 20 that month so MGSPO sold REALLY bad.

My point? NOONE cares about MEtal Gear anymore. It is NOT a hugely popualr franchise & the casual gamer that bought it on the ps1 has LONG since moved on to much better franchies.

Wow, get some facts, learn the English language and then come back here.

Ah the "english major defense", the damage controller's last trick up the sleeve.

What damage control? MGS2 got a 9.6 and he said he is worth a 6.9, that is damage control. The MGS series is one of the most respected and highly regarded game franchises of all time. It seems to me your too much of a fanboy to realize that, kid.

I wouldn't resort to calling me a fanboy so quickly, I own every MGS and think it is a great series. His 6.9 comment is clearly his opinion and not one anyone has to take seriously. But his remarks about the series no longer selling nearly as well as it used to are correct. With all the playstation faithful hoping MGS4 will be their big system seller, they tend to forget that simple fact.

Hate to break it to you, buddy, but no game is guaranteed a certain score.  However, I am hyping this game AAA all the same.

That's what they said about Zelda:TP, then just look what happened...It's better to not get your hopes up TOO much, but to look forward to it at the same time.

So was Jade Empire

So was - bum bum BUM! Snake Eater

Metal Gear Solid Integral scored a 9.0 :P

No wonder it'll get AAA (maybe not on GS but in average) but there is no such thing as the greatest game of all time

Ok, here's another fact for you.

The MGS series is an AA series. The average score of MGS games released on the Ps/2 is 89. Compare that to Splinter Cell where the average is 87. Facts are facts, even a franchise like Splinter Cell is nearly as good as the Cows precious MGS.

Also, MGS1 was hardly the greatest stealth game of that time. There are demos that lasted longer than that 3 hour game. I mean really, Cows bash Gears of war for only being 7 hours on normal but that's a huge length compared to a game that Cows call the best stealth game of the generation@@

MGS1 = 8.5
MGS2 = 9.6
MGS3 = 8.7

With only one AAA in the series are you sure you want to say its a fact that MGS4 = AAA? Face it. This game always gets into the 90% at GR but over here at GS this game sometimes gets down played..

[QUOTE="11Marcel"]

[QUOTE="MasterChief1013"][QUOTE="11Marcel"]You say in your title "look at the facts" after which you post almost all opinions. Good job there.MasterChief1013

all MG games have been critically acclaimed. fact. :|

"MGS, the greatest stealth/action game in the generation before last.

MGS2, critically acclaimed masterpiece that amazed players with a fantastic story, outstanding gameplay, and superb voice-acting and orchestra.

MGS3, improved gameplay, delves into the history of the legendary soldier, Big Boss. and although it did flop, Kojima came a second time, fixing past mistakes and won the respect of the GS staff once again."

I wouldn't say that this is filled with facts. Also, GT4 was definately critically acclaimed. Did it achieve an AAA score because of this? **** no.

you're forgetting the fact that MG started the stealth genre. and if there was a stealth game greater than MGS back in the PS and N64 era, please name it. :|

Tenchu. It came out before MGS. And the stealth element was much better than in MGS. I had more fun playing it as well.

Ownage approved. Also 3/7 PS/PS2 MGS games are AAA, hardly reassuring. The only PS3 game atm I'm willing to wager AAA is FFXIII.

MasterChief1013
Lol, don't kid yourself. It's reasonable to expect an AAA, but the fact is, there is chances it could flop, or be AA material.

You can't based the future solely on history, thus it's not fact.
