In b4 the TP hate bandwagonShinobishyguy
I was gonna say in b4 the nintendo fangirls but i'm too late.
TP was a dissapointment and 8.8 was a fair score for it's time, this is coming from a big Zelda fan. No innovation, outdated gameplay with horrible wolf mechanics. Poor enemy AI, simplistic bosses althoough designed well was stupid as hell to fight. The 3rd boss ripped of SOTC boss, last boss was a joke, ending was very lacking and the sidequests...there was none. The best thing about TP was the dungeon design and puzzles, it was still a solid game, just nothing amazing. Also ridiculously easy, even SMG had parts where it was very challening...TP was made for like babies..Also Zant was one of the worst characters EVER.

Ironically I agree with the stuff you mentioned. But don't act like there isn't a TP hate bandwagon. Ps: And I love that thickheaded assumption that I'm nothing but a nintendo fanboy despite the fact that my 360 is my most played system :roll:I think the GC version deserved higher. All the complaints that Jeff had about the Wii (controls, bad graphics for a next gen system) were not applicable to the GC. The GC had great controls, and for a GC game, the graphics were good. Yet despite this, he still gave it about the same score as the Wii version.Tauruslink
The GC version would have gotten 9.0+ if it came out in 2005. But Nintendo delayed it for no reason other than have a good game at launch for wii, otherwise they would be stuck with a rubbish launch.
Don't get me wrong. I love the Zelda series, my favorite series of all time, but TP was just not the best. It was if the other games haven't come out. It just seemed to be all the Zelda games thrown into one. Which isn't bad, it just lacks innovation and something new.
But I never cried for an OoT remake, which is basically what we got. WW and MM, imo, are the best of the series because they did smething different, and I would love a return to WW, but with a more mature celshaded approach.
TP was perfect in the sense of a videogame, but with the previous games setting the bar so high, it caused the drop here.
To me the game was 8.0. I didn't enjoy TP at all. I just didn't find the game enjoyable and felt it was a downgrade from Windwaker. Game felt too much like Zelda OoT with improved graphics and motion controls.

Maybe in real life you're not a fanboy but on these forums you like to do mario up the arse. admit it.
...I'm not even gonna stoop down to that level. You should be above such shallow school yard insults.Kept me entertained for about 50 hours. And there were lot's of memorable things in it.
Like the Sky castle, Midna's desperate hour, the twilight etc.
Looking back on it, I think no Zelda game deserves an AAA score or higher.jbz7890
Are you kidding? OoT and LttP were not just good Zelda games for their times..they were groundbreaking video games and had huge influences for other games. And the only Zelda game for that doesn't deserve AAA is FSA, AoL and TP.
TP deserves at least a nine, if not higher. It was essentially Ocarina of Time, enhanced. The only viable complaint for it was the lack of sidequests. TP was a very 'safe' Zelda game, in that it did nothing unusual, and instead stuck to the tried and true, and for that it should have gotten a better score, in that there is nothing flawed about the core formate.Tylendal60% of the dungeons in TP sucked. There weren't enough useful items. The game itself is also considerably more linear than other zelda games. It deserved the score imo
Hella no. It deserves atleast a 9.0 in my opinion.
But Gamerankings probably has it at what it "deserves".
GCN version- 9.5
Wii version- 9.4
People complaining about how easy TP is make me wonder how long they have been playing Zelda games. Wind Waker and OoT were just as easy. There hasnt been a challenging Zelda game since ALttPNoLimitJay1
A Link to the Past... challenging?
I always thought that was the easiest one
The waggle sucked. I think the GC version deserved 9.3ish, but the Wii version sits at a good, deservant 8.8.Arkthemaniac
Your Wiimote must have been broken. The waggle worked perfectly for me.
The GC version deserved around a 9.2. The Wii version should stay at the 8.8 though because the Wiimote controls were just tacked on.-Sphere-
I don't know, the aiming was far better, at least against moving targets. I've always been fond of my archer skill in Zelda games, so I was really pleased. I once hit an enemy in MM that because of the draw distance I could only see out of the corner of my eye, it dissipeared if I looked head on. I looked at it, then I swung back and fired, hitting it easily. So personally, I was really pleased with the Wii-mote controls, because it meant it was now much easier to hit a fast-moving target.
