inb4 "not in game"
But it does look good...for teh PS3
But wouldnt look good for the PC? or what did you mean? These aren't new, they are from the trailer, and they are all touched up cutscenes. Why not show us pics of the few moments of actual gameplay.
[QUOTE="ZoomZoom2490"]Wait is that actual gameplay? The physics looks too good to be true.looks awesome!!!funsohng
Wow that does look too good to be true. Oh Naught Dog, done it again :P
[QUOTE="AmayaPapaya"]Its his thread. He can do what he wants with it.These aren't new, they are from the trailer, and they are all touched up cutscenes. Why not show us pics of the few moments of actual gameplay.

Yes anyone can do whatever he/she wants, but it doesn't mean he/she won't get suspended, banned etc.. (Not saying he/she will at all though)
That gif is amazing. I'm sure it's a scripted event rather than destructible environments but still, it's pretty sexy looking :P
That's the problem with PS3, Blu-ray enables high quality pre-renders; so it can be difficult to differentiate real time from pre-rendered in engine.

Lets not jump to conclusions or convoluted analysis yet :?
For all we know maybe they did add in a new physics/ and implemented destructible environments?
Hopefuly the screening tomorrow will clear this off :)
Anyone mind explaining to me what the white lines are?
AmayaPapaya
it's from the Behind-The-Scenes video. there's even more but no one bothered to make a gif of it. one where Drake dove into the water (underwater gameplay, anyone?)
but it's supposed to be the release date 11.1.11

I'm referring to the trailer as a whole, I'm sure that physics image is in game, whether it is actual physics or a pre-simulation is up for debate.

so since in-game graphics were confirmed. Now we need to confirm actual physics? Haters gonna hate[QUOTE="AnnoyedDragon"][QUOTE="tonitorsi"]

so since in-game graphics were confirmed. Now we need to confirm actual physics? Haters gonna hate ???? Do you even know what you are talking about? For the longest time games have commonly used precalculated physics in scripted event for extremely physics heavy scenes. An example is in half life 2 ep2 when the striders go and blow up the houses. All of that was precalculated physics that was made into a scripted event in the game.Notice how the fingers aren't jaggy in the first video, Drake's fingers looked wierd when using his diary in Uncharted 2.
The game looks fantastic so far, but something about the style is always..off. They dont necessarily go for the realistic touch though, but instead go for their own style, and thats something I can respect.

It looks unbeliavable. Thats from the Behind the Scenes video.
Destructible Environments confirmed! :P

] The amazing scripted explosions.
Your sig says it all :) Can't wait for this :PThat gif is amazing. I'm sure it's a scripted event rather than destructible environments but still, it's pretty sexy looking :P

So PS3 gamers should be using what is a potentially pre-simulated physics scene; to argue the physics capabilities of their system?
This is System Wars, let's confirm if something is actually real before boasting about it proving the capabilities of your system. There is a world of difference between calculating where rock breaks in real time, how it falls and interacts etc. and running a artist tweaked animation.

Notice how the water pushes everything around. The physics seem like they are really good this time around.
I know Uncharted 2 used the Havoks physics engine, and things pushed, and moved around real well in Uncharted 2. Is it a good physics engine? They are probably using it again for Uncharted 3.

I dont own a 360, i think it is crap. But you need to get over your bias however, precalculated physics is both plausible and probable in what is shown for that gif.errmm wow is all i can say... ND look like they are pushng further in the graphics dept. :)
but visuals aside cant wait to play the game
The lighting, destruction and the smoke/sand blowing blowing in from the right looks too real. If thats what it actual does look like though I'm simply lost for words.[QUOTE="ZoomZoom2490"]
looks awesome!!!
tomarlyn
Its Naughty God tomarlyn. If they can top UC2, if anyone can do it, its them. :P
The producers also mentioned they've updated their engine and most likely these are the results. Remmeber they had like an entire year to work on it.

I'm not a lemming.
I'm a PC gamer that dislikes how difficult it is to judge whether consoles are doing something for real or faking it, because consoles are always finding cheaper ways to fake things rather than do them for real. The point being ultimately this material is going to make its way into comparison threads, just like they did with the previous game.
With Uncharted 2; people were posting material that was later identified as being none real time in graphical comparison threads, let's try to avoid a repeat of that this time.

That's not gonna happen silly :P
Anyway, I'm sure it'll be an awesome game but really, at this point we all know ND will make a pretty game, I just wanna see how they approach Drake's latest adventure is all.

Its just so wow, like real. Even the heat haze in the bottom right looks real. I've never doubted Naughty Dog but man its just so real. Please Log In to post.
