Why do PC gamers go nuts over console gamers enjoying how their games look? because pc exclusives are looking to be a thing of the past.[QUOTE="millerlight89"]My god, console gamers go nuts over the most average looking games. YAY!brennan7777
Graphics aside, can't wait to play it. :) Hopefully they drop the auto aim form multiplayer.Blixxed

11-1-11 It was going to be part of the trailer shown at the VGA. You can see it in the behind the scenes part 1 video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnjHQXCw5KcAnyone mind explaining to me what the white lines are?

Show me a PC game that has a overall better visual/animation/cgi quality to them like Uncharted 3.

Although this game doesn't use CGI.
Give me the name of that game. I would love to play it on max settings. I seriously doubt that's how it looks when you play. Not to mention that gif looks like it's off-screen too.

There's a video of the guy playing this in front of camera where they explain their tech. This is on the PC though, so obviously it'll outdo U3.Give me the name of that game. The game is The Witcher 2.
It is not off screen.
I made the gif myself from a downloaded video.
But the game won't be out until may 2011.
I doubt you are much of a PC gamer if you couldn't recognize that gif file.
Also the game does look like that.
It's also a large scale open world RPG with only 3 loading screens throughout the game while Uncharted games are small corridor shooters.

[QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"]These pre release photos/videos always look better than the actual gameplay.NukePistolsThat's why you should watch the first live demo (gameplay footage) of Uncharted 3 on the Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon tomorrow night (Dec. 13).
Is there a live showing on a website?
It's probably just easier to wait for an upload of the footage.

I hope it's uploaded to other better sites.
Youtube videos are horribly compressed.
Not if you upload in the right format. There is nothing special about pre-calculated / fake physics. That off-screen gif is just a pre-rendered animation, so what?
And the pics posted are fake shots, the real game will not look like that.
When will console gamers wake up and realizethat the stuff thrown at them are exaggerated and cheaply done?

On a more serious note, it is no secret that the consoles cannot do what top end rigs can. That being said, it does not take anything away from the fact that there are still some fantastic looking games on consoles. So, why is it that some PC gamers feel the need to attack every console game that actually looks good in it's own right, while reminding everyone who is impressed how inferior they are for wanting to play the said great looking game?
Seriously, guys, go back to your higher plane of existence and let us enjoy what candy that we do get. Again, it is no secret that the consoles cannot do what a PC can. However, that does not mean that all console games suck and are not great looking in their own right.
Everything is in-engine, they're not "fake shots." They're post-processed like every other preview shot of every single game ever. No one said it was all real-time.There is nothing special about pre-calculated / fake physics. That off-screen gif is just a pre-rendered animation, so what?

it's not just 'post-processing'. Just look at the Halo 3 E3 2006 trailer. That was 'in-engine'.
They're supersampled to remove aliasing, lighting and shadows are improved etc. they're pre-rendered and pre-recorded. But they aren't "fake" any more than every shot we see of every single game ever is "fake."it's not just 'post-processing'. Just look at the Halo 3 E3 2006 trailer. That was 'in-engine'.
NotTarts
No one is saying that they are real-time as far as I'm aware. Least of all Naughty Dog. And to say they're faking anything, is to imply they're deliberately misleading.
Nothing on a console is going to look as good technically as a quality PC title on max settings on a good rig.
That doesn't stop Uncharted 3 from looking fantastic.
Once again, having finished uncharted 2, what you're seeing are enchanced cutscenes and bullshots. The cutscenes in uncharted 2 looked amazing...because they weren't in real time, but in engine assets pre-rendered in very high quality thanks to blu-ray storage size and played back as a high-res video. The game would load in the background as the videos played. FULL STOP.
God of war 3 does this alot too.
"Anyone who has played Uncharted 2 knows those screenshots are in-game."
Wrong. I've finished it twice normal and hardest. Those are not 'in-game'.
Except they weren't all pre-rendered.The cutscenes in uncharted 2 looked amazing...because they weren't in real time, but in engine assets pre-rendered in very high quality thanks to blu-ray storage size and played back as a high-res video. FULL STOP.

I'm not a lemming.
I'm a PC gamer that dislikes how difficult it is to judge whether consoles are doing something for real or faking it, because consoles are always finding cheaper ways to fake things rather than do them for real. The point being ultimately this material is going to make its way into comparison threads, just like they did with the previous game.
With Uncharted 2; people were posting material that was later identified as being none real time in graphical comparison threads, let's try to avoid a repeat of that this time.
I guess you are kind of guy who dumps your girlfriend if you find out she took plastic surgery.Girlfriend? Come on. I think you're giving dragon here too much credit. :P

True. I'm sure it will look fantastic though like UC2, probably a bit better.

I've never played The Witcher so I didn't notice, I'll have to check it out. On side note, where did that Uncharted 3 physics gif come from? It was no where in the trailer. Is that a leak from the live demo supposed to be on the 13th?

Alright those probably aren't in game, but most people here have played Uncharted so saying "I played the game so I know" isn't really much proof. That goes for the guy you quoted too.

Theres in game an real time- real time means everything is being rendered on the PS3. Sometimes they use higher quality assets but some of that trailer is in game and it look outstanding. The visual diffrence between the two is not big as it seemlesly transistions into cutscenes and gameplay.
PS. to the guy talking about GOW 3 all the cutscenes used the exact same asssets as the actual game( according to stig) they only prerendered certain scenes to keep the framerate up and if you play the game in a alternate costume you can see its very few matter a fact you could count then on one hand.
