final fantasy killer has arrived LOL...
From the previews Ive read this game is so much worse than Blue Dragon. Poor Xbots Sakaguchi is just milking Microsoft's money... by making quick ff and dq clones.
Oh btw Uncharted sold 17,000 copies. It sold 7,000 copies on its first day.

What previews have you been reading? Most of the impressions for LO so far have been very positive. Don't tell me your basing this of IGN's 6 hour preview of a 50 hour game, which wasn't a bad preview anyway, just some bad animations.
If the 360 only sold one console in Japan and Lost Odyssey sold one copy, for a perfect 100% ratio, would lemmings still rejoice? 55k copies or 1 copy. It doesnt matter either way because the 360 is irrelevant in Japan. Carmilla31
1 and 1 would not be cause for rejoice.
if there is something that suggests that the 360 is making an impact and getting attention then it is cause for rejoice.
for example, userbase is 500,000. a typical game sells 5,000 units in first week. a game that is touted is being something that individuals from this region prefer sells 15,000 in first week. this is something to get excited about...maybe :).

errr...NO. My impressions are from Neogaf posters. You know the ones who are nearly finished with the game. I dont freaking trust IGN... EVER.
From what I read LO's story is really weak and it has really goody/lame cutscenes. Really high encounter rate(random battles) which are annoying because LO suffers from really really long loading times. Battles have framerate issues and battle system is kinda OK.
If BD scored 6.0 here... well expect really really low scores from Gamespot or other sites.

um american action game vs rpg come on now
Halo 3 even outsold uncharted in Japan.
Halo 3 sold 45k in japan for its first day sales.
and the PS3 userbase in japan easily out numbers the 360's.
Stop comparing new IP's to established franchises. Furthermore, both Uncharted and Halo 3 did poorly. Who cares who did worse. Naughty Dog didn't make Uncharted for that eastern Audience, and it's no surprise to any that it's INCREDIBLY hard to sell western Platformers(Heck, almost any western Games) in Japan. Finally, your comparison is flawed on so many levels, it's begs the question, why did you post it? Those games aren't even in the same genre.

Uncharted sold 7k copies in Japan, but it is clearly a western game. Saying that Uncharted doesn't sell in the east is like saying Cooking Mama doesn't sell in the west, it's obvious.
7k ????? Now THAT IS A FLOP !!!!

Both of these games are some of the biggest titles released for their consoles in 2007, both of these games are aimed towards the western market, but one of these games sold more than 6 times than the other in Japan on their opening days.
[QUOTE="dru26"]It was in the top 10 in Jp Game sales, that's pretty good.Eponique
Actually, it's not anything to shout about. It'll sell 50k the first week, 10k the next, and you'll never see it again.
Blue Dragon sold about 90k in its first week.
Yup, Lost Odyssey. Bomba.
;/ When in the hell is FFXIII coming out? I'd kill for some media if nothing else.

Maybe CES but I doubt we'll see anything on FFXIII. Im really curious to see how the battle system works.
Blue Dragon gets panned for not enough character development, Lost Odyssey has good character development but it's not "epic" in scope enough. But a game like FFXII can get away with almost NO character development and still be hailed as a great RPG. You losers will find anything to try to trash a new JRPG on the Xbox 360.
Anyone who calls any game a "insert title" killer is a moron, how the hell is a game supposed to kill another game? When has that ever happened? Blue Dragon being called a Final Fantasy killer makes absolutely no sense what so ever. Same goes for the Lost Odyssey crap I keep hearing PS3 fanboys spew to make the game seem weak. "hahaha look at the ff killer drrrrrr"
Most of the people really bashing the game on neogaf also hated Shadow Hearts, which was made by the developer of Lost Odyssey. Which is an awesome franchise by the way. This isn't a mindless shooter, you can't just sit back and let people tell you how you're going to react to the story of a JRPG. Unless you're so simple minded that you need people to tell you how to feel.

but if a "great" exclusive for japans "home console" doesnt sell well, what will?
sorry but your version of teh damage control sucks big time bro, Lost Odyssey should've sold alot more and failed to do so. Also, the wii is Japan's new home console now and even if the ps3 was still the home console for japan, i highly doubt that uncharted would've still sold alot of copies"Yeah, this thread is a train wreck, just like every Lost Odyssey thread.
It's like watching kids play a game of "telephone"...the first kid whispers "Lost Odyssey's story is mostly character-oriented" and the last kid in line repeats "So....Lost Odyssey's story is trash and the game is garbage."
It really seems like the RPG fanbase is having a rough time at the moment, and that's probably due to the transition away from a single-console dominated "home" for them to perch in. Understandable, I suppose.
Me? I'm just glad to actually have a new RPG to play come February. Everyone else can sit around trying to shadow-box Lost Odyssey against some vague two-year old Final Fantasy trailer for the next two years or whatever they want to do, I'm just sick of waiting, and Lost Odyssey certainly, in the least, sounds better than nothing."
Sounds about right to me.

No, but Folksoul was...it flopped harder than LO despite being released to a much larger installed base :)
Uncharted is a western shooter. A Japanese rpg bombing in Japan would be the equivelent of a Madden game bombing in the US.A Madden game on the friggin GIZMONDO MAYBE!!
LO was made for the WEstern Market in mind.

What is Folksoul then?
That's about 1/10th the userbase of the system in one week. SmashBrosLegend
isnt 10%-15% of the userbase like the average amount that games sell on the 360? I dont get whats wrong with that.
