yep small dvds that you probly own 50 of, and your beloved ps2 used often....or did it use sony's failed format super CD? im not sure...WilliamRLBaker
I don't think the PS2 had a great number of multi-disc games.

I don't think the PS2 had a great number of multi-disc games.
It had Something around i think 20 or so multidisk games, and how many does the 360 have? 3 so far one released and 2 for future release.
all 3 rpgs.
ALL 3 use massive amounts of cgi.
FACT: if all the multicd games on the ps1 had come out on DVD they would have been on one dvd, Because of the nature of those games *using lots of cgi* and they're age.
If no cgi was present in any of the games that used MASSIVE amounts of CGI on the ps2 they could have fit on 1 or 2 cds, Even during the last gen games using so much cgi we're really pushing the space of DVD this is evident by all the Final fantasies being so huge.

Yes, that's WHY MS is putting it on the xbox 360. They want the playstation market.osirisomeomiThat should be easy enough for people to understand.

I dunno, I guess silly developers just continue to "struggle on" with that darn 360 hardware. It's too bad, because the PS3 is so easy to program for (see: F.E.A.R. and Madden '08). I'm sorry, but somehow I doubt the gameplay will suffer due to being on 3 discs.
The 20 hours was a translation mistake. It is not cut scenes, but event scenes.Sir-Marwin105
That's how I saw it, but there was reading involved so quite a few people must of missed it.
I thought the cutscenes were all done with the ingame engine, like they showed in the original gameplay demonstration. Guess they made CGI stuff regardless, which is lame.
Gears had cutscenes but didn't need friggin CGi

Were you being sarcastic when saying the PS3 is easier to program for? I hope so since dev after dev have said it's the worst to develp for.

yeah... because Heavenly Short made so much room of all that extra space to give you a whole 6 hours of gameplay... woo hoo
Yes, that's WHY MS is putting it on the xbox 360. They want the playstation market.osirisomeomiAlso the fact Sakaguchi hates Sony alot now.
Just wait until Lost odyssey is done for the 360 and microsoft stops paying Mistwalker to make clones of dragon quest and final fantasy. Then you will see mistwalker bring out their real guns for playstation 3.elms1Sakaguchi already said he work on another Sony console again but hey we can still dream right?
It used CGI for some cutscnes, though a lot of the time I didn't see the point as in-game cutscenes were good for the most part except some bad framerates. Also, they didn't utilise every disc to it's potential, I installed each disc, each around 4GB.I thought the cutscenes were all done with the ingame engine, like they showed in the original gameplay demonstration. Guess they made CGI stuff regardless, which is lame.
