Lost Odyssey Vs Final Fantasy XIII (2)

LO was just good to fair. Final Fantasy XIII was great to awesome. Therefore Final Fantasy XIII is the better game. Simple enough right....right

But that aside, LO had its points and its downfalls, with alot on the downfalls. If they improve the game from that formula then it could prove to stand up to FF XIII maybe

I can tell you this for a fact, switchin paradigms was alot more fun then scrolling through rings for the start of a battle. Seriously, that was boring as hell and slowed battle down waaaaayyyy to much. Such a sad thing too.

Even the pacing of Final Fantasy XIII didn't bother me as it did with other users, The ending was crap though. Was expecting alot more from the director that gave us the ending to Final Fantasy X, nothing but mehness.

that game is the definition of a buried treasure. shame it probably wont get a sequal since it could easily be made as a second game

Sadly LO. LO was a great game but it wasn't in the same league as FF9 etc. FF13 is just ... a really poor game. Excellent graphics, much like LO, excellent battle system, much better then LO, but terrible story and terrible pacing.

FF13took me20 hours and 18 of those hours are walking in a straight line.

The announcement of Lost Odyssey 2 will drawf any other JRPG when measured by the " Do Want " factor.

a little late to the quote for me....but this will never get old.

Lost odyssey was great it hooked u in from the very start and had great characters to. To me that game had the most memorable story of any game this gen and i wish they would make a part two. I just started playing FF13 and so fare the characters suck and I'm not hooked at all i don't even feel need or want to play it, like i did with lost odyssey.

Final fantasy 13kept getting better the more you played it while Lost odyssey kept getting worse. so i'd have to say FF 13.

FF13 is a good game that appeals to a wider audience but is an atrocious FF game . LO is a really good JRPG but appeals only to JRPG fans. I played both and I enjoyed LO way more. I put 60 hours in FF13 then quit, I wasn't motivated to play it anymore. On a side note Vanille is the WORST JRPG character ever created

No it doesn't ... I don't understand why peopel claim these games are 40 hours long, they're just not. Especially when the game is 3 discs of moving up, and then a "hub world" esque portion, then back to linearity until end game.

Lost Odyssey was ace, but I liked FFXIII a lot better.

I'd really like to see something from mistwalker again.

No it doesn't ... I don't understand why peopel claim these games are 40 hours long, they're just not. Especially when the game is 3 discs of moving up, and then a "hub world" esque portion, then back to linearity until end game.

I find it really hard to believe the game can be beaten in 20 hours on a first playthrough. It took me around 50 hours to beat it, and 97 to platinum it. Even now, I don't think I could beat it in 20 hours unless I skipped every cutscene and avoided nearly every enemy.

The colour scheme is very bland. I actually think the graphics are on par with FFXIII, but damn are the colours ugly.

Even not doing those quests, that's still a ridiculously short time to beat the game in, but I'll believe you.

As for the last comment... I really enjoyed the game. You might not have liked it too much, but I loved it. I enjoyed putting the time in to complete it, and I barely even play games anymore. I think it's a fantastic entry into one of my favourite game franchises and it's the first game since S.T.A.L.K.E.R: COP where I've actually wanted to put the time into it to get everything, and if there was even more of it, I would have happily done it.

i didn't play FFXIII yet but for the record, LO is one of the very few x360 games that i wished i could have on the PS3.

It was nothing new and nothing special. The ending was atleast worth the boring sections of the game though and Seth was atleast interesting. Plus, the game was pretty linear tbh. The game only really opened up at the end and that was it. The final boss was disappointing as well. Too many downfalls for it to even come close to FF XIII, let alone a FF game.
