RE5 was a disappointment to many, Bionic Commando wasn't particularly good and I thoroughly HATED the Okami Wii port. Yeah, I don't think they've really brought their A-game this gen, unfortunately. The best thing they did do, however, which was simply amazing, was retro-ifying Megaman 9 and 10.

more so than in the past, but I feel like they are about 50/50 RE5 wasnt great but it looks like dead rising 2 will be cool SFIV was lackluster, but tatsunoko vs capcom is good Lost planet apparently sucks but Monster Hunter Tri and devil may cry are good

Seems like they don't put enough time and effort into games directed toward Western audiences. SF4 and MH3 turned out great and those are predominantly aimed toward Japanese gamers. When it comes to games directed more toward the West they either fail hard or make a game that is fun to look at and not much more. Bionic Commando, Dark Void, etc. being part of the prior and RE5, Lost Planet, etc. being part of the later.
BIONIC COMMANDOeD! And Capcom still plans to outsource more of their established franchises to western developers. Beware, resident evil 6 and DMC 5 are next.

And Zack and Wiki was great, but with their really huge franchises, I think they've been doing a bit... poorly. Maybe I'm just bitter because I bought SF4 last year and now SSF4 just came out.

Not to mention TvC, SF4 and RE5 Gold Edition is quite fun offline co-op.

Ironically, Capcom's "2s" are usually superior to the original. Mega Man 2, Resident Evil 2, Street Fighter 2, etc. But the horrible track record they are on lately, I'm not holding my breath for Dead Rising 2 to be any good.
How the hell does Capcom go from being god tier, to bottom of the barrel. Unless of course you love street fighter.

you acting like the game scored a 1.0... 5.5 is almost close to 6.0 which is in some cases passable... I bet if this would of came out 39.99 like ssf, this probably would of scored better ..
Having enjoyed the first one, I was really looking forward to LP2. Just from looking at it, I would have nearly bet money that it would have been a tremendous improvement. Yet, everything I have been hearing about it makes it sound like it is just another beautiful disaster. I honestly had fun with the multiplayer demo, too. Oh well, I'll probably still look into it one day down the road on the cheap.

I think Devil May Cry 4 is pretty lackluster compared to Bayonetta. On its own merits it's disappointing as well. It's just hugely uninspired IMO.
Yeah, I just watched the video review and the single player sounds like it is just completely broken and has horrible AI to boot. That of course is a deal breaker for me, as I was planning on enjoying the campaign alone before playing Co-Op and going online. Hell, it sounds like it even has it's fair share of problems while playing with your buds.
I always just go with what appeals to me, regardless of reviews. However, this just comes off as a review that simply cannot be ignored. Everything is laid out on the table and explained in detail. The game just sounds like an utter train wreck with a lot of flash. I doubt I'll ever pick it up after watching the video review. Another one bites the dust, I guess. Great review, Kevin.
