What videogame has the best love story? All I can think about on my list is Final Fantasy X.Wiishyyeah that was a good one. I've been playing VC and I think a love story is unfolding but I'm not sure. That might have my vote if I'm correct in the way the story is headed.

- XenoGears.

Yea it sucks after all that she is bitten and begs to be killed in order to create the one and only vampire killer.
Shadow of the Colossus. :)Gamer4Iife
Man thats commitment to a girl. If some strange voice was like "ok to save her you must face multiple HUGE giants" I would have said meh we werent that close anyway.
I would pick FF8 for a lot of reasons but I thought that squall's inhuman denseness kind of made it awkward. FFX's developed a little on the quick side.
Valkyrie profile has a couple of very romantic einheriar stories, but most end tragically given the fact that they have to die.
FF7's love story is pretty nice (the part involving the past). Jealousy and self loathing, what good is a love story without those things?
MGS (Sniper wolf) haha I just thought this was hilarious and touching at the same time.

A spoiler warning would have been nice :( Now I wont play the game anymore.
Breakdown, original Xbox.
SPOILER. Cept I doubt anyone will play it.
You end up going with her to her own separate timeline (pararrel to your own) to save a doomed world. (Cept that's what is assumed, because that's after the game)

Oh yes its real, and I believe its unintentional. I cant imagine how the voice actors were able to record it though without cracking up.

You've hit bang on the money
Clannad obviouslyAdrianWerner
Well, if we count visual novels..with regards to the romance aspect, there's more than a couple VNs like Clannad out there that'd rank far above games from any other genre, really. In that regard, even some of the shorter works like "Narcissu" and "True Remembrance" rank way above games I've played from other genres.
I've never really viewed them as games though, since it's mostly just reading and there's very little (sometimes zero) interaction from the "player." They technically are part of the adventure genre, though, so I guess they're fair game :P
