More powerful it maybe, lets face it how many console gamers have a clue about hardware? Very slim they judge with their eyes and that's why framerate suffers and PC gamers throw up.

Anyway have you noticed the worlds most powerful console slogan has been erased? M$ can't say this without being laughed at, how many PS4 games look better than what the X can offer? Being out done by Sony and Nintendo.

It's embarrassing that MS spent all that money R&Ding this thing only for it to die on the shelf. They probably spent a billion in development just so two million butthurt people can buy it for the entire console run. That's how you know MS has too much money and no common sense.

They had no choice, at least it shut people up on the idea that MS has the least best graphics. But then Sony moved the goal post. Heck, it forced Sony to release the amateur, I mean, Pro.

Too bad about the software part as the console itself is much better design than Pro

They did have a choice. They could have used that money to make more games. But for SOME reason, they keep finding excuses not to do that. Instead, they just wanted to come out on top in some Digital Foundry comparisons to feel good about themselves I guess. Even though the console will have a low adoption rate.

Hardware - Yes.

Games - No.

Only exclusives will show off the power, well supposed to anyway. A weak ass base PS4 out does the X, kind of pathetic.

Well, the power comparison must have really gotten under their skin then cause that's all people ever used to talk about.

For the life of me, I still don't know how they revealed this thing two years before it launched but couldn't be arssed to have an exclusive that would put the graphical questions to rest. I'd say the Scorpio launch was one of the most botched hardware launches I've seen if it weren't for some of Sega's shenanigans and, of course, how the original Bone launch went.

Sony really jumped the gun on the PS4 Pro though. I think they should've waited a year to beef it up more to compete with the Xbox One X. I guess they wanted it to coincide with the PSVR.

Nah. Considering MS went the route of liquid cooling the Scorpio, they have that wiggle room to blow some money on manufacturing where Sony doesn't. Demand would have ballooned the scale and profit margin unacceptably. The Pro was not about the pissing contest with XBox, the Scorpio was designed to spoil the leap to the next generation instead. Microsoft's position in the market is only to disrupt this cycle as much as possible while Sony's concerns are to maintain the cycle and see whether VR has traction or not.

This year's E3 will be very telling for whether Sony feels they are in the position they want to be with the PS4, the Pro, and PSVR.

They spent billion on RnDing off the shelf parts. You people needs to realize that SOny and MS don't do any RnD for the hardware, it's AMD that did it and responsible for the hardware. Sony and MS just decides which component they put in their plastic box and how much will they be charged. Gone are the days of custom console hardware.

As i predicted once again. Who here thought X1X will sell just because of hardware ? Naah. Common sense, i wouldnt even call this a prediction actually.

As long as they are not willing to provide exclusives X1 is out of the picture. This war wasnt even a war. Was a slaughter since day 1.

You see it is the most powerful console.

Ps4 pro on second place.

ps4 slim / fat on 3rd place

xbox one s / fat on 4th place

switch on 5th place

(power wise/hardware specs)

So..yea its the most powerful console.

They aint lying (and if you read my posts before I own a ps4 pro too) but Im not a fanboy to one machine.

I doubt anyone at MSFT is embarrassed. You're basically assuming how people feel that you have no personal contact with. I doubt they are because i don't accuse others of a feeling with out any evidence.

First of all The X IS THE MOST POERFUL CONSOLE.

Second they had to end the pixel counting. It didn't matter what gem they put out then if it was running less than 1080p. It would be slaughtered much like Quantum Break for using checkerboarding, but now it's great for Sony to use it for Pro. And when Xbox actually had games at launch and first couple years, while Sony was trying to proclaim themselves as pro indie. (Remember that?) Now they kick them to the curb. But the fact Sony somehow keeps dominating the narrative. 1st was it's about tha power when they had no games (It was a beast!), Then The X embarrasses it, now the games they have showed for 5 straight E3s finally coming out. It's all about the games!

3rd it is far from off the shelf. And rest assured Xbox will never be the weaker console again.

And finally

There is liquid in side the cooler/vapor chamber. However, that kind of cooling is not what people are referring to when they normally talk about liquid cooling.

Tis true. My underlying point was that the solution they used was more costly to produce than the standard air-cooled heat-sink in consoles. Their economy of scale, more or less, dictates that making such a move was worth the expense. Sony doesn't have that luxury, and it's obvious the Pro was further along in production anyways.

@nomadic8280: Hmmm, yeah... so apparently because PS4 has a few good looking games, the X is no longer the most powerful console. Lol. Makes sense.

I mean the X versions of games are consistently better than its competition. Often significantly so. Hmmm.

@nomadic8280: Hmmm, yeah... so apparently because PS4 has a few good looking games, the X is no longer the most powerful console. Lol. Makes sense.

I mean the X versions of games are consistently better than its competition. Often significantly so. Hmmm.

Oh I'm with you. I think these sort of threads are pointless. X1X kills it with the enhanced multiplats. The Pro is no slouch either, but its clear who the champ is.

@nomadic8280: Yeah exactly... just another ridiculous anti-Xbox thread.

Why are people so obsessed with slandering xbox. I've never understood fan boy wars so I wouldn't have any idea. I enjoy my gaming anywhere on whatever system.

It's embarrassing that they went through all this trouble and the best looking console games are PS4 exclusives. No one is talking about Sea of Trash or other Xbox exclusives. Sony and Nintendo are running the show while MS stands in the sidelines. Their problem has never been power it has always been games. They invested heavily in games at the start of the gen but all of them were mediocre and never caught on. The only reason people laughed at their power at the start of the gen is because they ere charging more money for weaker hardware and they were gonna launch with DRM. If they had games and didn't botch their launch no one would have cared if they had slightly worse graphics than PS4.

The most powerful console of the gen has never meant shit. OG Xbox was the most powerful and got hammered by the PS2. PS3 was more powerful but it didn't stop it from staggering at launch. Neo Geo was more powerful and yet the SNES still destroyed it. The most important thing a console can bring to the table is its games. An affordable price is also very important at launch too. MS just doesn't get it and Xbox is run by a bunch of idiots in suits that are completely out of touch wit gamers. They should have not launched the X, they should have dedicated all the time and resources to making their 1st party good again like Sony did at the end of the PS3's life, so that they can have momentum going into next gen. Now they've released the X and it's flopping with the additional stigma of Xbox having no games. It's going to make it very easy for Sony to steamroll them again with the PS5 in 2019/2020.

@hrt_rulz01: No one said they were lying... It's just the slogan isn't backed up with anything to show that power, so it's an odd slogan to use. If Nintendo used a slogan advertising their innovation but then didn't release games showing that innovation, it'd be a joke slogan also.

@robert_sparkes: Entertainment. It's like having a favorite sports team and hating the rival team. You don't really hate the team, but it wouldn't be fun watching a game without that competitiveness. This is system wars also... Anyone, including myself probably have much bigger problems in life than which console is better lol. So it's a good place to have a little fun, and perhaps (doubt it) contribute to the gaming community and the developers possibly reading some of this.

@joshrmeyer: So well put. I don't hide having a preference between the Yankees and Mets. I do. I grew up n the Bronx, Ny 15 minutes from Yankee stadium. I'm a Yankee fan.

My favorite series is Halo, be it games, books, comics. MS made gaming free in rec rooms for US soldiers where i served. Sony and Nintendo didn't. I have some preference, so fvck off with the holier than thou shit some preach. I'm not hurting anyone and neither are you or sheep.

@Ant_17: most powerful console then, most powerful console now.

You're right. Things haven't changed.

And both times didn't do much else.
