I can't believe lemmings. Even after the 360 has had failure rates that some are reporting to be in the area of 40%, and even after M$ (FINALLY) admitted after 2 years that every single one has a design flaw, they STILL stand by their company. Some people have reported having to turn their console in 3-4 times to be fixed/replaced. How can anyone stand for that?
I don't understand this. If Nintendo ever released a system with an inherent design flaw and astronomically high failure rates, us sheep would drop Nintendo like a bad habit. Where are lems so blindly loyal? Is it Bill Gates' power of mind control?

I'm no lemming, and I will argue with anyone who downplays the seriousnessof this problem, but I'd like to add my two cents.
I bought a PS1 and PS2 both at their respective launches. My PS1 died twice due to the laser issues and I still have my original launch PS2 which occassionally has given me the DRE but a quick cleaning has always fixed it.
Speaking as a gamer and a consumer, I do NOT believe that companies intentionally make shoddy hardware. And while problem do occur and it is angering and frustrating, it is stupid to take it personally as if the company is intentionally trying to screw you over. Sure, Sony had to be sued to admit the problem, but they DID fix it before the lawsuit was over. Sure, MS lied and said they only had a %3 failure rate. It sucks that these things happen but I have to wonder if it is a chicken-and-egg issue. Customers are now self-entitled, knee-jerkers who the second something bad happens they start screaming bloody murder about the company. It gives companies an excuse to lie to avoid overly-exadgerated bad press.
Yes, these are major problems and i would argue the 360 issue is a MASSIVE problem with no easy fix. But it's not like they did it on purpose and it's not a personal slight against YOU the gamer. So long as they still provide a great gaming experience and great games, people will support them. Just like people support a local football team even during a bad season. Just like I supported the PS1 and have nothing but fond memories of it even though it broke twice.
