]Making alot of assumptions. I should get the information but too bored :(. It does sound really bad but I'm too lazy. I really don't want to do extra work to make my information factual instead of speculation.

Well the FACT is, MS gave R* a loan/advance, and conditions of that loan/advance were to provide DLC as a form of repayment. If said DLCs dont recoup the initial loan/advance, then R* has to return the difference. Lets not forget that prior to GTA4's release that it had been delayed, causing take 2 to take a financial hit in the stock market, so they were in need of cash. Also, this was around the time that EA saw they were vulnerable, and tried to buy them out........forcefully :P This advance is no different from an author gets an advance on a book, or a singer getting an advance on an album. the money has to be repaid. If the DLCs make MORE than the 50m (looks like it will) then the standard 70/30 split applies (Publisher/microsoft)

Well, in an interview with shane kim, he said that they had thought about it, but take 2 is a 3rd party publisher, and makes most of their money off multiplat publishing, so it wouldnt make much sense to buy them, and cut 2/3 of your income from the beginning right? Not buying Bioware, Bizarre, and Pandemic was just plain dumb IMO though :PPlease Log In to post.
