Well, outside of those All-Play Wii games, perhaps the worst scored Madden yet?
Thoughts?

On a good scale, that or a 5 is what Madden has probably deserved year to year. The game's aren't "bad" in the strictest sense, but they are so played out, predictable, and borderline highway robbery every year. To be fair you could probably justify a 4 for those games. For all intents and purposes you can argue each Madden has played better than the year before, but they are so incremental with those changes that it's like who gives a shit? Regardless opening night is next THURSDAY!!! So hype
ehhh im not sure if i agree with scoring a game based off its being the same as the previous iteration.
it deserves higher but if scoring it like this kicks ea up the rump and forces them to do something about it then im happy with it.
ps: they should bring back the nfl street franchise and make it properly, not like that crappy arena one they made.
People need to stop buying the Madden crap so it becomes to expensive for EA to retain the exclusive NFL Team / Players licence.
i think they should take in consideration of last years game of how much is new or same. If Ea built a 10/10 game then every single year they just change up the stats of teams it shouldn't get a 10/10 every year.ehhh im not sure if i agree with scoring a game based off its being the same as the previous iteration.

Same garbage they been selling since 2005, when they bought the NFL exclusive license and had no more competition from 2K sports.
Glad it's scoring low, I expect the Next-Gen versions to SUCK as well.
EA Tiburon is a joke.
[QUOTE="chikenfriedrice"]Yep. There are enough really huge NFL fans in the US that they will buy it. I just wish EA would put a little more effort into it like they do with FIFA. Agreed, and I'm one who will buy it. Madden online is still a ton of fun, especially if your buds are big football fans. But EA does need to maybe shelve it for a year (unlikely) and completely retool it from top to bottom. Oh well, I'm buying the Xbox One version as my son and all my buds simply can't say no, lol. Its stil alot of fun to us, warts and all. Will still sell millions

Well this sucks as I was actually considering this for PS4 because my 49ers will probably be the best team in the game. Too bad 2K can't make NFL games. Guess it will be NBA 2K again to fill my sports void.
I mean, It looks like it's still a good "football game". A great simulator, like it's always been, but what it comes down to is that it's hard to make changes to a game like that every year. They literally release nearly the same game with updated rosters and stats on a yearly basis...but if you were EA, wouldn't you do the same thing? Regardless of its review scores, last I heard, Madden 25 was Amazon's most pre-ordered video game...in history? So lame...i_waaan
Wasn't this year's edition supposed have a completely new engine though? I haven't played Madden in over a decade so maybe I might be OK with it?
The bottom line is that it is a football game. There really isn't all that much more you can add to it. It's like racing games or other sports games. The only thing you can really do is making it look prettier as time progresses. Other than that what do people expect? What they should do is just have one game come out so very often with improvements and just have add-ons every year with the new players and update rosters.
Pretty amazing to me that people still buy this shit. Stop supporting bad developers already people! Really wish 2k could come back and utterly fist rape EA like they used to do, must be sad days for football fans, hahahahahhaahaha!jer_1People who buy it are gamers who like football and buy it to get amped up for the NFL season. It is a fun game if you have people around to play it with, but other than that to say the developers are bad because of it is silly. Its football, what do you expect them to change on it?

Then if there´s barely any change why not simply stick with a previous one you already own and save yourself some money to buy a better game?

Yea, they made changes to the infinity engine, so the physics are more in tune and accurate with real world simulations. Running backs are apparently unstoppable forces of nature in Madden 25, too, as are "the mobile QBs"...aka, the few who run the Pistol in super effective ways (RG3, Kaep, Russell Wilson).[QUOTE="xscrapzx"][QUOTE="jer_1"]Pretty amazing to me that people still buy this shit. If you really enjoy the NFL and you are a gamer it just becomes a tradition that you do and that you look forward to. I used to do this as I am a huge NFL fan and I had a few buddies who loved madden. We used to play very frequently. Now I just gave up on buying it becuase people stopped playing it and the excitement of getting it wore off.

I guess, but I mean I´m a pretty big football fan but I only buy either a FIFA or a PES games every two or three years now,and those(especially FIFA) are generally actually critically acclaimed almost every year,it just isn´t worth the money for me,but I suppose if it works for you then who am I to say otherwise.

That's a lame excuse.
FIFA caused this. FIFA has improved so greatly over the course of the last gen from being a laughing stock compared to PES, to better than PES, to WAY better than PES, to what it is now. Meanwhile Madden now plays more or less the same as it did the day I first bought a 360 years ago.Ninja-Hippo
Yup. Proof that sports games can improve a lot.
IGN gave it a 8.5 I think http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/08/23/madden-nfl-25-review I think gamespot gave it a lower score due to the game not changing that much from last years, but isnt that the norm with EA sports games hahaReview here
