Mafia 2 - anyone hyped about it?

So, Mafia 2 is almost out and I'm not seeing almost any threads about it?

Are you still hyped about its release, or you forgot about it "thanks" to frequent delays?

Anyway, Mafia 1 was one of the best third person shooters of all time (IMO) so I sincerely hope Mafia 2 will be much better.

Do you believe it'll be better than GTA IV?

Im not sure if it will be better than GTA4 but looks fantastic. I´ll get it for sure

Mafia 2 is one of my most anticipated games this year. :)

It looks fantastic but I've kind of forgotten about with all the great games that came out in the last few months that I still need to buy. I'm a bit sick of openworld games at the moment so I'll wait a while before getting it. Here's hoping it isn't like GTA4.

It is on my radar, it is just not one of my most anticipated games. Still not sure if I will get it on release or wait until later on down the road.

I think it's arriving a little too late. The combat mechanics may look solid but they've been done a million times before, and probably better. So there's little appeal to what's bound to be a major aspect of the game. What it does have is a detailed and different atmosphere, owed to the developer's eagerness to indulge in the period. That's why I'm still planning on purchasing it. And the first one is supposed to have some decent writing in it. InsaneBasura

I think most people who aren't excited for this game haven't played the original Mafia yet. And they should, because the second game will have some references to the first game. Some people will just miss some epic "WTF?" moments.

Mafia 1 is one of my favorite shooters of all time, but I feel zero hype for the sequel since I've learned it's designed as multiplat. It's an automatic reaction form me, the monent a game is annouced as developed for consoles alongside pc version I loose all the hype I had for it.

That said I will buy Mafia 2 the first time I see it on shelfs, it's a must buy for me, but I just can't feel the hype for it.

Pre-ordered CE edition yesterday. Can't wait!

This game looks amazing. If it's anything like the first, it won't be repetitive and since they spent the last 8 months of development de-bugging and balancing, it should be as good as it looks.

Looks to good to be true. I mean look at the detail of the world! It's amazing though L.A Noire looks quite good too

I have had interest, but have not been keeping up with footage until recently. I have gone from mildly interested to getting it on day 1. Looks fantastic in every regard and I could slap myself silly for overlooking it for so long.

I'm stoked about it! The videos for it look outstanding! From the cinematics, down to the in -game graphics, it looks promising to say the least. That one and LA Noir look very cool.

I can't wait, i think it will be one of the best games of the year. Its a eastern europe dev afterall so its going to be good! Everyone knows its the eastern europe/Russian/Ukraine devs who are giving us the best games!

I'm also hoping to be able to run it with physx at medium, as i have a dedicated 8800GT for physx, but looking at the requirments they put out iall just have to wait and see.

lol for me the visuals and graphics is obviously way better than GTA IV's....destructible environment and such

Hell yeah I am!! I just got Red Dead Redemption today so I will hold off on Mafia II until I completely finish this, Batman Arkham & MGS 4. :D... Then I'll get Gran Turismo 5 and BANZAI!!!:P

I still think the original Mafia & Max Payne are the best TPS to this day, so if it's anything like the first were in for a real treat. Initially I was worried it would loose it's way like many titles that start out on PC & make their way over to consoles but hopefully theres nothing to fear about this game. The original didnt have any PC mechanics that have to be sacrificed for the consoles & TPS work really well on them.
