MAG 4/5 on GiantBomb

now that ive read the work in progress here on gamespot i actually want to play the game.

he said you really feel part of a big battle. most haters here say you dont feel part of big battle?

anyway I might actually get this

What??? He even said that the 256 players don't change the gameplay that much(I kind of disagree), but the game is tons of fun to play. If it was just another shooter, it would've gotten a 3/5 or less. Given that Jeff was criticizing the game for small things through the 3 'MAG thing' Videos, it's surprising that he gave it such a good score, which mean it must be pretty good.

Fanboys keep saying that people won't play as a team, but there's no way you can't play as a team. If you don't try to do the objectives and just kill people( like me), you'll do absolutely horrible. The game rewards you for being near the objective when you kill someone by giving you 2x the exp you would've earned if you had just stayed back and sniped people. This makes a huge difference because you'll level very slowly, and the game won't be much fun, if you don't follow orders. You'll need to level for skill points, which are used to buy upgrades for your guns and other things like being able to heal others.

Like other people have said, this game will get better and better as time goes by like Warhawk and Socom.

man i had a couple of really awesome games and 1 pretty aweful one. all of them were domination.

surprinsingly we lost most of them but the teamwork was amazing! everyone had a mic and there was constant chatter about enemy locations, request for first aid, etc... was awesome :D!

On the other hand my last match was dismal and all because noone was communicating or moving in to secure the tower in groups. everytime me and my clanmates were trying to move in and obviously got gunned down. Everyone was out for themselves so we lost...

Seriously this game is absolute AWESOME with a mic and a communicative group.

I just couldn't get into the game really. From what I've seen it looks like about an 8.0 on GS.

I predict a solid 9.0 Quote me. I have special powers and it allows me to guess gamespot review scores. Im not even kidding.

Good score for the game, I wont be picking it up though, too many FPS in my collection that need finishing allready.

Wow I just looked at the MAG forums. Man the fanbase seems pretty dedicated so far with lots of discussion of very detailed strategies for maps, modes, etc. Hell I've even seen a few posts where they have posted rudimentary drawings of strategies. I've also gotten a sense that the players are starting to really dig the shadow war and have a sense of nationalism for their faction

I gotchance to test out the squad leader in 5 games. It's a lot of fun managing the fragos and delivering strikes. It's funny to see how you can lead the mice around the maze and make the rats scurry in fear of the strikes! I like playing as both a grunt and a leader now. All in all I highly recommend playing this game and giving ita chance to grow on you.I wasn't very impressed wih it at the very beginning like most people .... but once you're in acquisition and domniation and start leveling up your character and learning the game , it is agreat experience.
