[QUOTE="HavocV3"]This. I was going to pick it up until I heard there wasn't a headset bundled. Seriously, what was Zipper/Sony thinking? They built quite an impressive communication system without the need for headsets. Most players adapt quite well to what's going on. There's so much visual things you can pick up on while playing as well as an in-game announcer that lets you know what to do. As long as more serious players that lead squads have headsets , you're set for that game.should've started around that price, being MP-only.
or at least include a headset and charge full price, like the SOCOM games had.

Your sig is hawt. That is all. That's still too high if the commercial alone was actually a authentic representation of this game.

Anyways, it looks...fun but I'd never buy it unless it came with a headset.

It may sucks sometimes if you want to ask something to your team or give your opinion. Is there a spotting system like in BC2 where everyone can see the enemy you pointed on the radar?[QUOTE="RavenLoud"][QUOTE="HavocV3"]

The only one that came with a headset was the first one. Socom 2, 3 or Combined Assault didn't come with one.
You really should, like a lot of other people. When you find some good players and understand how the game works, it can be extremely fun. For 29.99 you can't go wrong.I rented it when it first came out and thought it was pretty good,I think Ill go ahead and pick it up at this price

Well I'm glad I waited and can now save 30 bucks, I played the **** out of the beta and thought I'd hold off on the retail product for BFBC2 which didn't suck but I did really like the beta and now that is cheaper and I'm not a complete noob I can jump in and have a blast for less.
As far as I know, It sold pretty well, but I haven't heard much about sales since it released. According to this article, it sold 500,000 by February, which isn't recording breaking, but far from what a so-called 'generic FPS' would and should sell in that short amount of time
[QUOTE="HavocV3"]This. I was going to pick it up until I heard there wasn't a headset bundled. Seriously, what was Zipper/Sony thinking? You know, it's easy to find a good-enough, decently priced headset with minimal searching. There are tons of bluetooth headsets you can get for ~$20 or less. Chances are that if you bought MAG on release and wanted to communicate with others, you'd already either have a headset or wouldn't mind buying one. I think $30 is the right price for this game, even though you could find better games for a cheaper price if you look around. It is a new game, though, and I doubt that the community will die out any time soon. It also has an advantage over other multiplayer FPSs for the amount of people that can play online and how it's heavily based on teamwork and completing objectives. If you're into that stuff, you'll like it.should've started around that price, being MP-only.

I thought it was good, not great, but I'm not a team player and I don't really care for completing objectives, so I played 32 vs 32 team deathmatches rather than the other modes. It's really not for people who tend to play DMs and TDMs in FPSs over modes like Search and Destroy and Capture the Flag. You should probably rent it in that case. When I played this game for the first few weeks after it launched, it seemed like 4/8 of the individual squads had headsets, which is more than enough people IMO.
The biggest problem I could really see is that it didn't have enough variety. You'd play the same map every time if you are in Raven and are fighting SVER in the same mode. However, the best thing about this game is how fast you start games. It amazes me how fast you can get into a room of 256 people. While you're waiting you can go into your barracks and change your presets.

Is there a spotting system like in BC2 where everyone can see the enemy you pointed on the radar?-There's nothing stopping you from talking , usually 2-6 other people have mics in your squad. And it's kinda nice that way too , because if you roll with a small group with mics you can sneak around and get the objectives and do work while the other people run straight ahead towards the goal and keep the enemy busy. Or you can change up the tactics if something isn't working. With 8 people yapping all at once , + the sound , + the announcer ..... that gets kinda overwhelming in my experience and it turns to squad in-fighting (which is hilarious sometimes- to me at least). There's no spotting like that , but there's a radar system anda huddisplay that will help you out.[QUOTE="RavenLoud"] This. I was going to pick it up until I heard there wasn't a headset bundled. Official PS blue tooth>>>any generic sub $40 blue tooth. If Sony would have given MAG the same treatment Socom got, then you would have ended up only really paying $10 for the game if you got the bundle($60-$50 headset =$10 game).I would recommend it! It's quite a different multiplayer to all the other ones out on the PS3 and great if you like communicating objectives and whatnot
Not bad considering you could get it used for $25. I may get it, but given that I just got 3D Dot Heroes and will get Red Dead and Alan Wake, it may still have to be on the back burner.donalbaneI already have too many games coming this month as well. Still might pick up MAG later. I've got some friends who play it a lot and say it's really fun once you get into it.
[QUOTE="Nike_Air"]400 hours played for a game you just like? :lol:lol didnt notice that :PI like the game. I've played about 400 hours so far. Nice to the prices dropping (I thought it should have started at $40) , and hopefully people will continue to pick it up.
