this is very very good for a game that almost nobody expected i to sell.

Who cares about WW sales, MAG wasn't in the top 10 NPD sales, as far as Im concerned the game sold 0 copies......... Sorry that was a bad joke :PSwift_Boss_AI was about to say :P
thats quite sad when you look at how cows had at one time hyped the game then they changed their minds when it turned out the game wasn't very good.
I mean really 500k sales? 270k online games? by that time frame halo 3 had something like 6 million sales and 12 million games played.
William, what's going on baby? Why you always bashing the PS3? You know what, you are actual proof that the PS3 is an amazing console, because for all the hate you show towards the PS3, you still own one. Any console that can even make a hater buy it is definitely one hell of a console. I think he loves it deep down, just trying to be a cool troll on the forums ya know :P[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"]That was unexpected, but good nonetheless. I might pick it up myself sometime.sensfanVoneI definitely recommend giving it a chance, it really grows on you.
I put all the games I want on a list and then buy them by price. It might be some time before I consider MAG. :P
500k? Now I'm not about to bash 500k sales, required sales is dependant on financial investment (whatever it may be). Every game doesn't have to sell millions to be successful, regardless of what the fanboys will tell you.
However I recall PC gaming being declared dead numerous times for games selling in the X00k range, usually in regard to cross platform games that sold more on consoles (as if they are equivalent). I see a lot of people in here saying 500k is good, I wonder if they would say the same of a competitors platform?
A lotta Europeans musta bought it. Thankfully no one on PSN uses headsetsshadow8585
That's rather insulting, don't you think?
Dont even begin to try and compare Mass Effect an existing IP, with MAG a brand new IP. It is a fact that new IPs have trouble selling at first so of course the initial sales of Mass Effect 2 are going to be higher. MAG has also very little advertising. They showed Mass Effect adds during the NFL Conference Championship Games. So yes, an existing franchise with millions of dollars of advertising should sell more than a new ip going mainly on word of mouth for advertising. 500k is impressive since MAG has been out for 3 weeks. It is off to a good pace and will probably break the million in sales eventually.Well considering ME2 supposedly sold 2 million worldwide it doesnt seem that impressive...
But Americans especially really love their military shooters. Apparently they cant get enough of that genre :?

According to this post from Sony MAG has sold half a million copies since release.
"Over half a million of you have already chosen your allegiance in MAG, and have played over 270,000 games in the Shadow War."
That's a very good number for a decent game.A lotta Europeans musta bought it. Thankfully no one on PSN uses headsetsshadow8585
whats wrong with us europeans like? nothing like oh lets just bash anothr culture because their diffrent from me.A fair whack of players use HS's now about every room i have been in on well MW2 theres been a fair load of people with mics.
So instead of assumption and making yourself look silly think before you speak :P
did you buy the game?500k sold = 10-50k player online regular (this number will decline) = long waitting to get in a 256p game.
sad

I think you have to put it into perspective. I said 500k was good for two reasons. 1) NOBODY thought this game would sell AT ALL (mostly people disappointed with the beta, prematurely calling it a flop) and 2) the game has been out 3 WEEKS. For a new IP with (seemingly) negative press coming its way, it's done surprisingly well. The same could be said for Dante's Inferno, though we won't be able to say for a few weeks since it just came out.
I agree with you saying that people calling 500k sales abysmal one second then praising it in this case is hypocritical. Still, in terms of development costs, I'm not sure exactly what Sony or Zipper are hoping to see out of the game. My guess is the 1 million to 2 million mark. Hopefully they didn't need to have their sights set higher than that. If they do, I think they may be pushing their luck.
If you are referring to "Over half a million of you have already chosen your allegiance in MAG" I think its mistake otherwise why not say over a half a million sold right after speaking on Uncharted 2 sales? That's a shift of message and a VP business man like Trent is sure to know English grammar rules like that no?
But maybe I'm just wrong. If it's in the article and I'm missing it please point it out. If it's that quote and I'm misinterpreting please explain.
I mean really, VG Chartz, who usually is off by lets say, ~100k only has the game at 0.33 million. So wtf?
I mean, if someone here can literally proove MAG sold over 500k then I'm wrong but I think he probably means played including BETA stats.

How come yer always in PS3 related threads and being all negative/sceptical? What's eating ya?Yeah, Halo 2 being the only online game that people played on Xbox didn't help Halo 3 sell at all. You're comparing one of the biggest franchises around to a brand new ip on a console with a smaller userbase. Unfair comparison, I say.thats quite sad when you look at how cows had at one time hyped the game then they changed their minds when it turned out the game wasn't very good.

You will note none of that post refers to the PS3 specifically.
As for why I target PS3 more than 360; I can ask the same of PS3 gamers in regard to PC. PS3 gamers go after PC more than any other gaming platform, I expect the cause is the supercomputer hype resulting in a urge to surpass ever progressing platforms like PC. That ego, that constant bombardment from the PS3 end has earned the platform more of my attention compared to the others.
I agree... I dont have much interest in MAG, not for $60 anyway.that's a good number for a game that frankly I didn't think would do very well
