Mag is horrible

Ok so i got a beta code for mag the other day from a friend and i finally played it today. ill tell you in advance that i mostly hate all shooters like halo, killzone, gears of war. shooters that i like are half life, left 4 dead, team fortress 2. thats about it. i started playing mag and wow its just as bad as halo and the rest. you just start walking and you try to get to a point in the map and theres 30 people shooting at you. the shooting in particular is below average (this is one of the things that cod gets right). maybe its just the fact that i hate generic shooters but this game just sucks. thank god i got the beta code because this is one game i will never buy.

Are you used to the PS3 controller?

Personally I think it's the epitome of bad shooter controller, and that's why I dislike shooters on the Playstation. (I only ask since you say you like Half Life, L4D, and TF2 so I assume you play PC games? I'm hoping you don't play Orange Box on a 360 or PS3)

dualshock 3 is my favorite controller, and ps3 is my console. ( i own the 3 systems). i played the heck out of cod4 on my ps3 and prefer dualshock over xbox 360 controller. and no i don't play those games on my pc. i just got the orange box on 360. however i play tf2 on my friends computer. so its not the controller it just the fact that i didn't like the game.

i dont hate the entire genre, just generic ones like halo, killzone, gears of war, mag, battlefield etc. i like alot of valve shooters, resistance 1 and 2 and i liked cod4 when it came out(now not so much). the worst are halo and gears though, i cant stand those games.

its not horrible but not that great either, throw the number 256 around and some people will go nuts for it. zipper needs to give their fans socom instead

maybe, i'll probably give it another shot but i dont see much promise. and yeah halo is garbage, gears is almost as bad. resistance is good. killzone sucks almost as bad as halo and gears. half life pwns all though that for sure.

No its not it just has problems but its a beta. I've had some fun, it doesn't keep me comming back because its unique or any thing it keeps me comming back because of winning...so i assume as soon as i start losing alot then i wont play it much any more.
But thats true for any multiplayer game that keeps me comming back cause me and my team are winning.

its not sarcasm, i've played quite a few games in the beta and there is lag, its not rampent jump around the map lag its lag where you go around a corner yet the bullets are still hitting you cause the online presence on the enemies side has come around the corner but it hasn't updated on your side. and i have quite a speedy connection so its not that. Mind you its a beta and lag is to be expected, glitches...etc but the way hans is talking is that a beta is perfect there are no flaws when the game has lots of them all of which are directly cause of it being a beta and they are being fixed.

P.S: and tomorow at 8 or so ill get back on and play till 12 am again like i did tonight.

The best part about MAG is it's necessity for teamwork. If you're not using teamwork, and just try to COD your way through, you're going to fail. I don't really like FPS games either, but MAG isn't your average FPS. your K/D means nothing really. what makes a good MAG player is the ability to follow orders, and the ability to work as a group, rather than an individual. Thats why MAG REALLY shines once you get into a clan, or at least get a group of friends to play with. the style may be generic, but the gameplay is pretty unique. it's not the first team-based tactical FPS, duh. but it's still unique. not everyone will like it, but It's DEFINITELY more "accessible" than KZ2. I can see fans of FPS games, and casuals alike taking a liking to MAG.0rin
