Cows don't like to hear that someone is happy with their xbone so they shout them down. So insecure.
The problem with the Xbox One is that the major selling points are not selling points across the board. What kind of parent would buy their child or teen a $500 console who's major selling point doesn't apply to them? What about a person is college or a person who shares a studio apartment with several roommates or people who just want a barebones console without breaking the bank? The lower price point alone is a major selling point for the PS4.
As I said before, the Xbox One has some great long term value by being well connected to the web and cable but the whole media/entertainment industry is going to dramatically change in the next few years with IPTV, internet connected cable boxes, Chromecast, Android TV, Aereo TV etc. The TV Everywhere revolution is coming. There's a reason why Sony isn't worried about the Xbox One's TV integration. It's because they have other ways of penetrating the market with Smart TV's, their upcoming IPTV service etc.
@MonsieurX: it's ShottyMcNad. Amature turncoat who knows nothing. Nothing.
I know plenty! I know after going back and forth months ago, I made the wise decision and got the best gaming console...The PS4! I don't buy gaming consoles to watch TV or to Skype. I got the console that over the long haul will deliever the best playing, best looking games. The console with the best franchises and the console with the best history of its parent company supporting it fully to the end.....The PS4!!!
Who gives a damn about a media hub?
A fairly large portion of the casual media-consumption market. People who aren't gamers are talking about the Bone because of it's ability to switch between games, movies, streaming services and their cable television box just by talking to it. That's huge, and MS are playing it up like nothing else. This is going to be a tough road for Sony if all they concentrate on is games. Console gaming has been on the decline over the past several years and mobile and PC gaming (both casual and core) are talking off.
Youre so far removed from reality, its not even funny....its sad actually....youre a bit delusional....
The fact the PS4 is breaking records, and is selling like hot cakes is a testament to the fact people still WANT GAMING, so the amazing success of the gaming centric PS4 makes me happy and if youre a gamer should make you happy too.
All we need now is for the xbone to fail, so that 100% of the correct message can be sent...The xbone failing miserably is good for us all (if youre a real gamer) Read my post on page 1 for further eloboration...

I'm connected to reality. Where business and making a sale is more important than pleasing every demand of the customer.
Sony is wonderful at making it's hardcore consumer base think that this is what they are doing.
Personally, I'd love nothing more than for the Xbone and MS to go down in flames. A gaming market place with Sony, Nintendo and PC is the way it should be! MS has lost me and millions of other former Xboxers with all of their BS! So you Lems can have your NSABOX ONE! Don't want it, don't need it!
The major advantage for the X1 for me is Halo when it comes out. This TV stuff is worthless to me as I play games in a room dedicated to gaming and movies, there is no standard TV cable box in that room.
The xbone could have 5 of the greatest games ever made, it would still not push me to ever get an xbone considering everything else thats wrong with the xbone lol....
Also considering the fact Microsoft already tried to butcher away consumer rights with their always online/DRM schemes....Im never getting an xbone......
Halo has declined dramtically as a franchise too. Halo hasnt been good since Halo 2.....Halo 4 was just straight up garbage.....
There is no hope with the incompetent 343 making the next Halo
...annd Halo (a declining milked generic shooter franchise) is the one game that will push you to get an under-powered, over-priced, anti-consumer, TV box focused, kinect SPYING xbone machine......lol prepare to get fucked then while Halo dissappoints you to boot......anyone ignorant enough to actually get an xbone deserve whats coming to them lol
It's aimed at overweight nerds who refuse to simply pick up a remote because their arms are disturbingly heavy.
Yep, Kinect 2 is definitely a game changer.

Xbox1's APPROACH is definitely the future of living room gaming/entertainment.
Unfortunately, PS4 is more powerful and more successful promotionally. Otherwise there'd be no contest, really.
But yes, XB2, PS5 and Steam Machines in a few years will all use XB1's as a template.
A single entertainment machine for your living room, wirelessly sinching with your tablet(s), smartphones, laptops (hybrid of course) and gaming PC (for the very few who'll still have one), with voice and gesture controls.
All in all, the idea is great, but the timing is too early (much like Windows 8 itself) and implementation sloppy.
If anyone's has any doubts or is an apple fan go on YT and watch 2007's interview with both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs about the future of the PC and beyond, they both agreed on this.
I am not really caring what the consoles can or can not do outside of playing games. If I want to do more than game, I have my PC for that.
Correct me if i am wrong but you say you take Xbox one as gaming platform because you can connect tv-cable-box and other devices?
You need to think beyond the box. It's not the 1990's anymore. Multifunctional capabilities is where it's at!!
you're right. it's a good thing both my ps3 and 360 do multimedia better than the xbone ever will. It would be pretty stupid of me to buy a $500 box for everything except for games. (and it would still require me to subscribe to cable and have a box for that if I honestly still cared about that sort of thing and wanted to watch it without just taking half a second to switch the tv input with my remote and save electricity)

hey now, they actually do make damn good blu-ray/dvd players and I can see that being useful. I can see netflix being useful too. Were Xbone a replacement for the tv box instead of still requiring the same prices, fees, and equipment, that could be a point too.
Silly things like web browsing and mp3s though, i don't know why anyone gives a shit that you can't use a game system hooked up to the tv to use them. Even viewing pictures seems kind of pointless.
Neat! I wouldn't use the Xbox HDMI in, though. It reduces image quality and adds latency.
Also, I'm not crazy about having to talk to inanimate objects in my house, especially ones that I have to repeat myself too.
It sounds like you're enjoying those features, but they're really not something I'd find useful.

You still have to pay your cable bill.
The xbone just adds a 500$ fee, plus the on going cost of xbox live fees, on top of everything else.
Makes things worse!
Its pathetic how hard xbots try to justify the xbone.
Live TV is useless. It reserves a small side of your screen for it. Trying to play a game at the same time now becomes one of the biggest distractions ever.
Plus snap or live TV has downgraded picture quality.
Who wants to watch TV like that, in a tiny window on the side of your screen with shitty quality while trying to game?
Ive said it before and I will say it again, the xbone is nothing more then a cheap cash-in "product" that was made to appeal to the typical American douche bro gamer who has ADD disorder.
IF I want to watch TV i will watch my ACTUAL TV, and when i want to game I will game etc. Mixing both together doesnt work.

IF some like or want those features............then thats their right. No need to get heated about it.
Wow xboners are sure pathetic "gamers". Real gamers don't care about your casual crap made for housewives.
Hahah, ok then go back in time and tell the cows that bluray movie playing features were unimportant and that the ps3 was actually a weaker suckier console than the 360. You know... since most of them claimed they bought it for the bluray capabilities before it actually had games.
@k1ngd0m4g3rul3z:
The difference is, Apples box only costs $100. Microsofts costs $500 and requires a $60 annual subscription on top of that. This media market is already over saturated with roku's smart TV's, smart Blu-Ray players, android devices, etc, etc, etc. The one thing these devices cannot do is next gen gaming. Something Microsoft has dumbed down as well to try and compete in these markets. Now what should one rather have? A high quality gaming device that still runs the most popular media services or a "Jack of all trades , master of none"? Especially when these smart devices evolve like 8 times faster than a new console?
