Major problems with PS3 3.0 update?

3.0 Failed harder than a failboat carrying a load of failboxes. don't ask, its lat...err.. early, and I've not slept. but yeah, don't let the fanboys fool you. 3.0 failed pretty bad. HOWEVER, there are a few features I liked, like the browser screenshots. also, there aren't adds al over. theres a Playstation news ticker, and a "whats new" which is basically links to the stuff the ticker mentions. lets not go overboard with the fanboy fabrications from either side. and besides... it's still free ;)0rin

I don't have to see it myself. When PS3 supporters THEMSELVES say that it fails, then more or less it probably does. You = Fail.

anyways I haven't had any freezing problems since the patch, the icons are perfect now...no more sitting 3 feet from my tv to read the font, and well it was a good patch through and through.

This is just page one of threads, and extends over 20 pages of threads of people complaining about other problems this update has. No I'm not "reaching" here, I think the evidence is quite clear that there are major problems with this update.

And just for the record this thread is at about 400 posts, and will probably reach 500 by tonight. I don't see how that is even relevant, but hey you asked.

No problems here. Most of the complaints seem to stem from people that are too busy whining about enlarged text and grey boxes around their friends list. Just keep in mind that there are 23 million PS3 owners. This certainly is not all of them. If there is a hang in regards to Uncharted freezing up, you know as well as I do that it will get patched.

I swear, gamers today are so spoiled. We have more options today than we ever have, yet people still nit pick over the most miniscule of details despite having it better than we ever have. Is it bricking systems? No, the vast majority of complaints are people that are whining over a few cosmetic changes. If I remember correctly, there were quite a few folks that absolutely hated the look of NXE last year as well...not to mention Avatars. Guess what? They got over it and do not even think about it anymore. Same will apply here.

Major Update != XMB sparkles and a bunch of other fluffy horsesh1t to draw attention to the store and weak social networking

Ps3 system update3.0 - Has anyone else have missing friends or is it just me? I have 7 friends missing from my recent update.

Did they fix the Uncharted freezing problem and the friends list issue yet?

I've had absolutely no problems.

The XMB looks better, especially with the Africa Dynamic theme:P. I hope there will be more Dynamic themes on the way.

Too much advertising now there are 3 ways to get into Playstation Store now. Also the "What's new" section is too slow and dumb. Scrolling text in the ticker needs to have an option to get turned off as it is once again telling you what you can already see in the Playstation store. The borders around friends are a bit much.

However, I like the option to finally output to multiple sources and the new animated background. I got the Africa one free from the Japanese store and its cool. :)
