Man Im giving gaming up...

I dont know if I am for sure, and I know I should be blogging this, but all gaming has become is a world full of shooters and online crap. It has becoming the standing ground for blood thristy teens who like to act immature and have no logic whatsoever. Gaming has become nothing but that, when we abandon actual unique experiences and are being force fed by developers that the next shooter is the big innovation. The characters are going nowhere and the majority of the chracters are nothing but big guys with armor and guns. Wii is not an innovation either, the Wii is o boring past the games like NMH and some others but NMH sold bad and it's less likely we will get a sequel.

The false information fed, lets just say all fanboys are brainwashed to belive that they are playing something new and different when we arent doing anything but playing games with more chracters on the screen and some physics your not even gonna care for after awhile. 1000 guys on screen(WOW! TEH INNOVASHINZ!). Please gaming is becoming redundant, hopefully we can all just have one system next gen where every game is an FPS or Sandbox game and we can all be happy.

Honestly I hope you guys are happy with gaming as it is, I hope your love playing your 1000th FPS and violent games, and dont say im just talking about 360 im talking about PS3 too, Resistance2, KZ2, Haze, 3 of the PS3 biggest games this year are FPS's. But I dont blame the gamer, well... infact I do blame the gamer it's the gamer who's buying these games, then developers say "WOW" lets make more FPS's and nothing else.

And also if Nintendo's philosophy is what gaming should be then I definantly dont want a part of it. Sorry guys.

Yeah the key word is fun. While you guys wait for the innovative game that never comes, I have fun playing 'regular' games. I don't have the mindset of "this can't be fun if it is done before" so I can take pleasure playing games that I like.. where I get to shoot people in the face.Drathyl

A wise decison. Gaming has become somewhat stale and unchanging for a while now.

As far as opinion and prefernce go there isn't importance. But as in Sales and Demand go FPS's is one of the most important.

I'm not giving up gaming yet I fear for the industry. Games are getting extremely stale and people are so easily satisfied.

It's a shame that FPS games have oversaturated the market the way they have. Instead of having games like Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on PS3, we have Resistance. That really sucks IMO.

I just hope gaming doesn't go the same direction as movies and popular music, but it looks like its headed that way.

If developers aimed for end products like Super Mario Galaxy and Grand Theft Auto IV, the state of gaming would be much better.

NO puzzle games and RPG's are far more popular with devlopers, there are millions of them.

And yes quality FPS's sell on average far better than any other quality game besides Sports and Racing perhaps. Because there is such a huge demographic that likes these types of games.

Which year hasn't had a huge glut of shooters? how many games do not involve shooting or hitting?

And why are you complaining about violence and immature teens but praising NMH?

Have you looked at the amount of adventure games coming out this year? There's not much room for more shooters, Resistance 2, Haze and KZ2 are hyped up, and they will sell but they aren't really changing the landscape from what we know it.

You just sound like you suck at online games and some L337 loser called you a "noob" on the server or something. Now you are ranting at us.

Lets be honest. The FPS and TPS are popular genres whether you like it or not. And because of that developers will continue to create such games. This has been happening for some time now. So the chances of this trend dying? Highly unlikely. But that doesn't mean the only thing developers are pushing out is FPS and TPS. If you actually took the time to look around (instead of having a whine) you will find the games that you'd want. They're out there, stop being a bum and search.

Microsoft could announce that their 08 lineup consists of My Little Pony MMO and The Sims: Working In a Mineshaft During the 1800's and people would still make posts like it was "the greatest lineup in the history of gaming" :lol:

I find it hilarious that anyone thinks a lineup like that is enough to save someone's interest in gaming.

Also Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery (although I dout it will be 2008 :( ), they are both RPGs.

I dont know. Banjo 3 is on its way. That is a bit different than most modern games. I don't say give up.

The problem with gameing today is that developers can't take major risks. When games cost 20 million+ they need to make sure their game will sell. Taking a risk in todays world is far more uncommon than before.
