Almost all of those games stink. Who'd waste their HD space by not deleting Lost 5 seconds after they were done with it?

lol, now i consider my self to like games quite alot, im even considering a career as a dev... BUT SRsLY!! who needs to play more that 10 games at one!... this is just a small problem! every console in history has had those little things which are irritating, this is the ps3's. if you NEED to be able to play every game you own at ANY time, then yes, this is terrible

yeah, Beowolf is supposed to be a real system seller.

Up until now people didnt install there "console" games. There was need to keep them installed just put the disk back in when you want to play. Who wants to install everytime you get a wild hair to play a old game? Its not the end of the world but annoying if nothing else.

Well you download the demo then have to install it after downloading. On the 360 once you've downloaded you're ready to go. Much better way.

it can be pretty bad (ive filled a 60GB), but then again, thats the beauty of having a replaceable HDD from any manufacturer. Just spent £40 on a 2.5" 160GB drive, and i shouldnt run out of space again for a long while :)

most people tend to ignore this fact and like to show it as bad.

There is a hard drive in the PS3 FOR A REASON!!

At least they are using the hard drive for games to cut down on load times.

Even demos have to be installed. Only had my PS3 a few days but can't believe I've had to install GT5 and demos.(and yes I only have the 40 GB version) soulfinger

Duh a demo has to be installed. Same thing on 360. Would you be streaming it from the internet or something?

And people you can delete this data when you're not playing the game. Game saves are separate files. No need to keep stuff installed of games you aren't playing.

I don't mind installs at all if they only take a couple minutes because it does help streaming and loading. DMC4's was just unacceptable though. Oblivions was the best because it just cached data in the background as you played to make areas load faster.

Let me put it this way from some1 who owns all 3 systems.

1. The ps3 was expensive and had no games at the time but I bought it because I knew games would eventually come to it, and I would have me a next gen bluray drive in it and also play my games online free. Do these installs bother me? No because it is nothing major and besides if u need more space the ps3 has the luxury of upgrading your hdd.

2. The 360 was a tough choice at first but no one can deny that it had games that u wanted to play on it, and did RROD stop me from buying it? It might have made me wait but I still had to buy it because of some of the games I wanted were never going to be on the ps3.

3. The wii was an easy choice for me to get but was very hard to find one to begin with. I have always loved mario, metroid and zelda games and no matter how old those franchises will be, I can never get enough of them just like how I love the mgs series. Also because the wii mote just takes games to another playing field and makes it different then the ps3 and 360 which is why I bought it. So because people call the wii kiddy, did that stop me from getting one? No because those are kiddy games I grew up on and is a big reason I am still in love with games today.

Plus having a laptop harddrive of 180gs is pure win at a low price. I don't mind the game installs. It doesn't bother me at all. My TV is setup to my PC, PS3, and X-box 360. All I gotta do is switch the input while my PS3 is installing a game. I don't see why people are blowing this out of purportion. We do this with PC games since day 1. It provides better loading time and I rather deal with that then swapping 4 discs just to play an RPG and 1 disc dies, game is useless.

lol @ thread. Mandatory installs are killing nothing. You would have to be very weird to own every game that needed one (they are the minority). And you would have to have some weird condition where you cant handle deleting things and making space for it to affect you.

And the fact you can buy a nice cheap easy to install hdd if need be that option is there.

I seriously don't know why people ****, moan and winge about this so much.

1. You CAN upgrade the PS3 HDD if you want to

2. You CAN delete the installed game data if you stop playing the game

I read in some thread around here before I hired GT 5: P that the install takes 20 minutes, 30 mintues and even 2 hours I read someone cry about. Well GT 5: P took a whopping 5 minutes for me and since I am no longer in possesion of the game guess what? I can go ahead and delete the data it installed :o oh my, shock horror! All the precious HDD space is back for me to use.
