I honestly don't know why some of these people don't go into serious business for themselves. They often have a lot of talent.

I always hated the way the movement works. It's just as annoying on the original NES version. When I press left or right, I expect movement, not wheel spinning.

A 3D Mario made in UE4 for proper next gen hardware, now that would be something!

if these people wanted, they could legally parody Mario, make him a "TV repair man" instead of a "plumber", make Peach a "Diva" instead of "Princess", change some names up slightly, they can monetize off of it if they wanted and owe Nintendo nothing, as long as it can be argued nobody could seriously mistaken the two

hell, if these guys wanted they can make Nintendo pay them, all they have to do is make several key changes like some kind of 3D Mario (but not Mario) satarized porno game that Nintendo can't legally prevent them from releasing, so Nintendo would have no other choice but to buy out the porno makers like they did for the Ron Jeremy "Hornio Bros" porno, hell, this should be done in retaliation to Nintendo's last cease & desist over the person that something-something'd Mario 64 and Nintendo got all pissy

ok just watched the video, they can just change the model and be done with it.

But the people making this are doing it to learn and to practice; to add up to their portfolio and showcase their skills. It's not like they are trying to compete with Nintendo by releasing the game at retail or at Steam and charging money for it.

Too bad Nintendo will shut down their project. They don't even want people to show their games on Youtube, let alone recreating one. Wish more devs had Valve and Blizzard's mentality. Those guys promote user generated content, and sometimes they are hired by the company.

Black Mesa was recreation of original Half Life and it was one of the best games of 2012. Valve wants to make it a commercial product and it won't be free in the future. Modders who made it will earn money. Wish more companies were like that. Warcraft 3 is also getting a remake.

Doesn't matter if Nintendo were to shut it down or not, these guys will never fully recreate SMG. Ripping some assets and piecing together basic bsp objects is not going to get them very far.

And a whole lot of other fan games like Super Mario 63, Star Road, Super Mario Bros. X, etc.

There was a Super Mario 64 remake demo that recently got a cease and desist. It does seem they have a problem with remakes taking their level design.

And it will be removed soon.

As amazing as this looks and I mean it looks amazing. This will be shut down faster and removed than when the Hindenburg disaster happened live.

First an HD take on Mario 64 and now Galaxy. Nintendo is getting left behind by their own fans with technology and hardware.
