Not bad, not that great. Occasionally I do like to play 4 player split screen with friends so 60 FPS would have been nice. But 1080p 60 FPS will be sweet on one screen. Your thoughts, SW? Do you care?

Tegra X1's SM has the following features
1. quad rate Int8 <-------- 340 GFLOPS Fp32 x 4 rate = 1360 GIOPS or 1.36 TIOPS
2. double rate Int16 <-------- 340 GFLOPS Fp32 x 2 rate = 680 GIOPS or 0.68 TIOPS
3. double rate FP16 <-------- 340 GFLOPS Fp32 x 2 rate = 680 GFLOPS FP16 or 0.68 TFLOPS
If Switch games optimized for tile cache rendering, Switch can maximize it's GPU performance.
Wii U doesn't have NVIDIA's pack math advantage.
XBO S doesn't have NVIDIA's pack math advantage, hence it's stuck at 1.4 TFLOPS Fp16/Fp32 and 1.4 TIOPS Int8/Int16.
I swear everything about the design of the Switch was done to serve Mariokart. That's their mega console seller. The joycon local multiplayer thing, and the wireless console connection ability, are just perfect for Mariokart. You could have every racer be a human, all local player (edit: although it sounds like you can't do that). It would not surprise me if the Switch's processors themselves were designed to make Mariokart as smooth as possible ahead of other types of games.
I'm glad I didn't get this game or a Wii U the first time, this is definitely a must-buy for me so I can have a great multiplayer game to play with friends and showcase the Switch.
That's better than Wii U at least. Still, the battle mode isn't enough to make me buy the game again when I already purchased the Wii U version and the DLC.

Already played the hell out of this, not going back.
I still am. Disappointed we dont get a brand new game,
Did you play MK8 on the Wii U?
I am sure a new one will be coming haha
Yeah, it was one of 4 games I bought for the system. I liked it and the new courses. I dont think I would get this remaster for Switch if I do buy it someday.

I'll probably end up picking it up since I loved MK8 (plus being able to play some Battle Mode with friends would be cool), but yeah, I hope they have a new one on the system soon too

I wouldn't expect a new Mario Kart for 2-3 years at least IMO. But do people really feel the need for a new one right now? This will have 48 courses (new and old), 42 characters, battle mode with 8 maps, 200cc, 1080p and 60fps. Do we really need another one? I'd rather just see more courses added via DLC.
Mario Kart 8 is a solid foundation, but I think for those who have already played Mario Kart 8 to exhaustion on Wii U, I can understand why they (me included) would like to see something fresh.
I think re-releasing Mario Kart 8 on Switch is a great opportunity to experiment with Mario Kart 9; given that the system will already have a traditional Mario Kart game should fans wish for that experience. We'll see. :P

So do you mean that you would like to see Mario Kart 9 really shake things up? I feel that could be interesting, but if it's just more of the same (with say, a release of 30 maps this time) I just feel that they will have trouble justifying it, as this deluxe version really does have a huge amount of content. It's like Smash 4, they've made it so huge now, making a new one must be so daunting! I'm not sure what direction they could go in with 9 though!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is kind of the strongest execution of the concept. Mario Kart 9 releasing on the same console would feel a little redundant if it was even more of the same.
In order to really justify Mario Kart 9 (Remembering that there hasn't been two Mario Kart titles on one console yet) it will have to really shake things up.

Interesting... Do you have any ideas? I liked what Sonic Transformed did, where the stages were changing per lap, and you would be in a kart, flying and in water on the same level.
Yes, something like that. Mario Kart 7 and 8 toyed with this idea but not to the same extent as Sonic Racing Transformed.
Another angle could be to adopt the approach to single-player campaigns that Diddy Kong Racing and Crash Team Racing teased. This open space/ HUB world approach might make sense given the return to openness presented in Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey.
I don't think Nintendo will do this but we'll see.
