Mario Kart Wii is better than Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Over the years I've been a fan of the racing genre. I can't see the fun in collecting cars and trying to pretend that racers like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue are fun. They're not. Also, being ripped off would make it much harder to enjoy. I have to admit, the game does look gorgeous even for an incomplete version. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue looks much better than Mario Kart Wii graphically. But, after being bored to death from the last two installments I've given up on trying to enjoy the series.

Maybe you guys can help me understand the joys of playing a Gran Turismo game. So, which would you guys prefer? Gran Turismo 5 Prologue or Maro Kart Wii.

Having played neither of these games, I'm going on my taste in racing games and pure bias... GT5P is superior.

GT isnt my cup of tea either. i got tired of it after GT4, I got to 94% in that game and just stopped and haven't felt like picking up another GT game since.

I've played Mario Kart Wii quite a bit since Sunday, awesome game. And if you're looking for different racing series may I suggest GRID. Its going to rock. :D

If you go by GS reviews as SW tends to do... Mario Kart Wii is better then MK:DD

they are games for two different people, people who like realism and people who like arcade type racers ... you are the person that likes the arcade type of racer ... so ... no ... we cant tell you what makes GT5 so good.humber_matus

I think so, it seems to be a great puzzle game... I don't know for sure but I think it has a chance at 7.5-8.5 here.

GT5 Prologue is an unfinished game... obviously it's not as good.

GT5 will smash MK Wii not to mention Forza IMO.

• ^ It's a $40 demo (here in the US at least)
• They've done prologues before
• Not everyone thinks the same, some may be turned off by Mario Kart and appreciate the simulation that GT provides.

And you can't ride Motorcycles in DD.:D I so can't wait to use a motorcycle in the game.

Prologue is one of the most perverse things ever. It's 60 dollar demo. Mario Kart is a full game that comes with racing action, battle modes and a wheel for 10 bucks less. Who cares about graphics?Arkthemaniac

I prefer GT5P over Mario Kart and anyday. The only Mario Kart I liked was 64 (still have it to this day )

I enjoy collecting virtual cars, so im with GT5: P

Mario kart FTW, even if it is super unbalanced.

I think the real GT5 will outscore or tie MKWII, the prolouge got scored down because it wasnt a real game and just an expensive demo

Which is better Chess or Risk? Both strategy games, one is more casual friendly but both a lot of fun.

Thats how I feel about comparing Wii Kart to GT.

There can be so many GT5P type of racing games but there's hardly any Mario Kart type of racing games. So I agree, I have more fun with a group of friends playing Mario Kart Wii than going solo with GT5P.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is tons better. Of course, if you don't like realistic racers you're going to choose Mario Kart.

And how nice for you...you don't have to compare the full version of GT5 to Mario Kart. When you do GT5 will just demolish Mario Kart. Seriously, Prologue is almost a Demo yet you're still comparing them. Guess that shows just how good it is. ;)

but seriously you cant compare them that is like saying what is better a piece of PIE or STEAK to totally different things!

I think Mario Kart is okay, but the tracks are not creative as I'd like it to be.

if you think skill doesn't effect mario kart then you haven't played online much. the best racers will have the most points because they will be in the top a majority of the time. items might help the noob get a win every now and then but it's not consistating placing in the top like the good racers do. also you can download the ghosts of the better racers to challenge them in time trials. takes the random out of it.
