Mario Kart Wii is better than Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

if you think skill doesn't effect mario kart then you haven't played online much. the best racers will have the most points because they will be in the top a majority of the time. items might help the noob get a win every now and then but it's not consistating placing in the top like the good racers do. also you can download the ghosts of the better racers to challenge them in time trials. takes the random out of it.

Fair enough but what about when you face off against the computer who spams items at you when your in first? They just HAPPEN to get all the items they need to take you off the top spot despite how well you've been driving.

since some of the items target the lead character, alot of the good mario kart players tend lag behind in second place until the end. plus it can get tough going against the computer since they seem to team-up on you sometimes

Mario kart for me, but that's simply because I like arcade games much more than sim ones.

Over the years I've been a fan of the racing genre. I can't see the fun in collecting cars and trying to pretend that racers like Gran Turismo 5 Prologue are fun. They're not. Also, being ripped off would make it much harder to enjoy. I have to admit, the game does look gorgeous even for an incomplete version. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue looks much better than Mario Kart Wii graphically. But, after being bored to death from the last two installments I've given up on trying to enjoy the series.

Maybe you guys can help me understand the joys of playing a Gran Turismo game. So, which would you guys prefer? Gran Turismo 5 Prologue or Maro Kart Wii.

EDIT: Mario Kart Wii scored 8.5, and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue scored 7.5, btw. :)

Another thing is that Mario Kart Wii has Online play and instead of 4 people online you get 12.

So....tell me.....Why is Mario Kart DS so much better than Mario Kart Wii other than Mario Kart DS Local Multiplayer going up to 8 people wirelessly?

I think Gran Turismo 5 the full version will beat Mario Kart Wii in 2010,

because I like realistic racing games better like: Gran Turismo, Grid, need for speed prostreet, etc.

Let's compare two games that try to do 2 entirely different things. One is a polished up demo of a racing sim, while the other is almost like a party game that happens to involve karts.

Personally, I find Mario Kart Wii to be the best Mario Kart to date, as both singleplayer and multiplayer are highly addicting. I bought it in June 2008 and have invested over 400 hours in it, so it must be doing something right. I've always found the GT series boring as hell, so I'm not interested in either the prologue or the game itself.

Seriously guys, this is like comparing Star Fox to a flight simulator.
