again i want to see some real figures on failure rate. we all know consoles made in 05 and 06 will be real high. Show me some figures on consoles that were made in 08 or this year. I bet the rate is not that bad. And come on we all know other consoles had problems. Ms dropped the ball but that is the price you pay for trying to get your console out first and it doesnt seem to be effecting there sales that badly. Hate them or love them it doesnt matter. again they screwed up o well. I guess im just lucky I have had no problems with my current 360. The previous one I had i got at launch. About 4-5 months later i got rrod. Sent it in got it back and then about a month later it had a problem with the graphics and there was lines on the screen, I sent that one it and got it back and it was fine until i traded in (long story)...then i bought another 360 a few months later. But besides back in 06 I have had 0 360 problems since.

I don't beleive it's melted wires or compound considering their is a temporary fix you can do by overheating your 360 even more.
