So much for the ps3 me2 version being the definitive.

Well, it still is. Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 has the more advanced engine, and the game with all of the DLC is all on one BluRay disk.

There's no question that BluRay > DVD because BluRay's are difficult to scratch....but we'll save that for another time.

It's the definite version 'cause it came out a year later on a more reliable disc format?

I gotta say ... That's a piss poor argument you have there my friend.

Can we not let all this "definite" version nonsense go away and just enjoy Mass Effect 2 in anticipation for the final episode?

lets not forget that likely with installation on the 360 it will load faster then teh ps3 version even with its install.

I had a feeling this would happen. Still, I think I would prefer the level 60 bonus and millionaire bonus.

I think they already indicated this before... the question is, how much will it cost? Because we know the PS3 version is free, but I doubt the same will be true of the 360/PC version...

It's free through Cerberus.

Is there a confirmation (link) of that somewhere for the 360/PC version? They ended free DLC a long time ago for us, why would they start offering more at this point?

""Genesis will be made available via the Cerberus Network and will give purchasers of the game an overview of the story from the original Mass Effect.""
I would assume thats where they are getting free from the fact it will give purchasers of the game an overview which tends to hint at free.
But we'll have to see.

P.S: I will no longer click a examiner link again that thing popped up so many ad's since I dont have my pop up blocker turned on in IE9 beta.

It looks like Bioware will be letting all Mass Effect 2 owners take the short cut and use the interactive comic to import decisions from Mass Effect into ME2 without having to play the game. People who own the PC and Xbox versions will now be able to download the interactive comic off the Cerberus Network. LINK

It could save a lot of miles driven in the Mako for people who have already been through Mass Effect before, and just want to change their choices.

coasterguy65
Great, I usually do one run through with my original ME character and then do it again with others. This'll be great, because I ll be able to do other things than random decisions made by the game now :x

Cool.

I kind of got bored of Mass Effect after seven playthroughs, and I never did get around to doing that female biotic paragon who romances Liara playthrough I wanted to do.

No way. Why would I want to use a comic, when I have a Level 60 Shepard from ME1 all ready to import into ME2?

if you don't care about the meagre bonuses and want to be able to start a new playthrough with shepherd having being the biggest ***** in the galaxy etc. without having to do an entire ME1 playthrough?

I highly doubt that the comic will cover all of the decisions made in ME1, and the reason is because the import checks for hundreds of decisions Link proof.

well maybe not all the tiny ones, but at least some of the big ones like who to save and whether a certain alien friend dies or not. beats having to do an entire playthrough if you want an alien race to be exterminated but keep party member X instead of Y.

Still, ME1 has a great storyline, great voiceovers, etc. I wouldn't trade a playthrough for anything.

It's better to have seen what effects your decisions had in-game, rather than just reading about it.

I completely agree that its a win for PS3 owners, the more people who enjoy ME2 the better, I'm just happy I get to see what the comic adds too :P Completely OT, the girl in your sig is absolutely smoking but the hell is up with asian (just in my experience that seems to be who does it, could be others I haven't seen!) chicks who do those odd routines?blue_hazy_basic

Wanna know this too. They are pretty fit however:twisted:.

OT:Was planning a second run through of ME2 soon with an evil Shepard once I had downloaded ALL the DLC.

I've only had one playthrough of ME1 and that was with a saintly Shepard so this comic suits me down to the ground. The second I finished ME1 I vowed never to touch it again, it just really did not agree with me.

Screenshots? The sooner the better so cows won't be made to look silly when they cry 'ownage' on the comic graphics when it turns out they look pretty much identical to the 360 version.....yes, i know pc will win :)

A poorly written blog with silly reasons is why it's the definitive version?

Honestly, given the choice would you have waited for this version over the one everyone has already played to death?

sdu_1111

its still a good article with good and sound reasoning with solid stats to back the author up. . and of the many awards ME2 as won around the net including GS, i don't think the phrase "played to death" would suit this great game. if any reaction is to be inferred from your comment, i would suggest jealousy and despration.

I'm definately jealous that a game I own and have completed 5 times is going to release on another console I own. Definately.

Big down side of the comic is no Conrad Verner and you most likely won't get to star at Level 5.

That's good, so everybody who get ME2 without playing the first can get caught up on the story, not just PS3 owners.
