Re: The Return of Commander Shepard. Now I must play the first one. It's official.waynehead895
--- Damn I'm so excited for ME2, but I haven't beaten ME1 yet! Since 2007 I've been in Noveria at the beginning of the game :(. Maybe I should stop typing and go play :P. --- The ONLY things I want them to fix is the frame rate. The game would be virtually flawless if it were steady IMO. The inventory wasn't that big of a deal to me, glad it's being redone though.

they said it will be a more streamlined inventory with quick switch upgrades and no clutter... E3 will shed massive light. Is it possible this game could be what finally gets my testes to drop?

I didn't think the inventory was that bad :?. Yeah it wasn't great, but the main issue for me was the frame rate. I don't care about texture pop in at all, it doesn't affect the gameplay, but frame rate does.

This game is going to amazing. Something lemmings need to counter the PS3s amazing line up.

MS really need to push for this to come exclusively to the 360 in 09 and then for the PC early 2010. Although im hoping the game isnt rushed and wouldnt mind if it came in 2010 if it meant less technical problems.

In all fairness the framerate could get quite choppy during combat. although the poor inventory management system did make things frustrating sometimes, and thats what annoyed me more.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. It looks like Sheppard has those huge cheek bones he had in the old mass effect videos  Seriously thats probably the only fault i can find, im just so excited for it and from those pics, the graphics look a step up.

It seems like im the only one who thinks ME1 is still one of the best looking games to date. I always thought it looked better than uncharted.

not only do I totaly agree with you about the graphical genious of Mass Effect, but I'll go one step further and say it was in a class all its own based on atmosphere. Yes, Bioshock included. The music, locale and design were just a symphony of genious. I actually felt like a space traveler for the first time in a "video game" amazing.

Yeah, Tali was the hottness. Any species that claims responsibility for creating the Geth must have women who can tear it up in the sack.

sure her species has a weak imunity system...but we could always go at it in the sanitation chamber.... and she can keep the helmet on..it adds to the mystery

Well i have a theory regarding what happens in the trailer now..
Since it says that we'll be playing as Sheperd and then switching off to someone else, that trailer might be a scene from a later part of the game and we'll actually get to experience his death
I can't wait for the game though, and it sucks having to wait for it. There's also the possibility of it being released *gulp* next year.

It would be funny if she took of her helmet and turn out to be a man. The look on your face would be priceless.

anyone wanna toss a hype score out there? I will. 9.0 easy. To be perfectly honest, I read the review of ME1 on gamespot recently, I've always just used meta or GR, the Gamespot review was a joke. There is nothing 8.5 about Mass Effect, sorry. even with some graphical hicups, pop in and such, the game is so clearly the best RPG of the generation and an absolute achievment in gaming narrative. it was an embarrasing review.

I actually like Sheppard's model alot. He's fairly handsome, but not too good looking. Rough, but not too grizzled. ME1 has some of the best graphics this gen no doubt. I feel the game was ahead of it's time though. It offered so much with such amazing graphics. I think they had a great amount of things to accomplish with the gameplay and design (instead of just focusing on smoothing the frame rate and pop in). I'm sure Bioware will iron out the graphical wrinkles and ME2.

I can't wait. I'm playing through Mass Effect a couple more times to rack up some achievements and create a couple of Shepard models to import into ME 2. If they fix some of the problems, like the pop in, elevators and the Mako controls, ME 2 is almost guaranteed to be an excellent title.

agreed. The shepard model is very believable. especially in a game with so much main character dialogue and interaction. BioWare did a great job on Shepard. Personally I think he'd kick master chiefs A$$...

That's probably because the default male Shepard is based on a real model. :P

Master Chief is lame compared to Shepard. Shepard actually gets some booty while Master Chief falls in love with a hologram :(. Mass Effect is the best video game sci-fi universe :D.

That guy is some Dutch model. ME1's scope wasn't really that big (not from an actual gameplay perspective, but the story and universe scope is immense).

ME2 is gonna own so hard. I'm glad Bioware decided to do a sequel instead of going back to Jade Empire.

yeah true. I literally spent ages going through the codec, Itssodetailed. Alot of my friends who have the game completely skipped out on it leaving me gobsmacked. I mean yeah you could but its such a great universe it just begs of you to find out more about it.

Its like completing Majoras Mask without touching on the side quests. Just no.

OMG man the codec and backstory stuff is absolutely amazing. The game isn't the same without it. You feel apart of the universe actually. I like how Bioware gives you a CRAPLOAD of information, but still find ways to make the universe mysterious.

I was reading up info on ME and found out that Sheppard was based on this guy.

You learn something new everyday.

And when you consider the scope of ME along with the graphic fidelity maintained in the game, its mind blowing.

But yeah, im expecting big things from ME2. This is a game where i wish it would go to the PS3 as its an experience cows should not miss. ME2 for life!

I always thought he was a rip-off of the Jack Sheperd (Matthew Fox) from LOST, lol

Agreed. This should be played by all. Even a bare bones version for the Wii.

Sounds awesome! I just finished ME1 at the weekend (after more than a year playing it on and off) and i still love it. ME2 sounds fantastic, with pretty much everything wrong with the first game to be fixed!

I can't wait.

I also wish this was on PS3 and maybe Wii, although it would compromise the game severely. This is a gem that truly deserves to be played by all.

Thank you...oh God thank you!

I could not agree any more!! ME1 had some problems, mainly, inventory management, empty world exploration, and elevator loading, not to mention texture pop in... fix those up and continue an amazing story, and its going to be AAA

I'm cautiously optimistic. The first one really was a struggle for me to finish and had many flaws that drove me nuts. I'm not playing through again and have no save, so it's start over for me.....and read the story off the net again for a refresh.
