Mass Effect would be my choice. But I dug the hell out of Dragon Age.
I love Sci-Fi 10000x more than high fantasy, but I gotta give it to Dragon Age, actual RPG gameplay, actual RPG length, and some fights on normal difficulty actually take a tiny bit of effort, unlike mass effect.mass effect 1 or 2 just because i love the space genre more

I will say Mass Effect for right now. I dug the gameplay more and I liked the story with Shepard, plus the games compelled me to beat them both quickly, something I have yet to do with Dragon Age. .
That being said, I am working my way through Dragon Age now. It is a lot of fun, I like the gameplay and everything but I can't speak until I beat the game.
So for now, Mass Effect > Dragon Age.
Dragon Age, it might not have been as flashy or sci-fi but at least I got 40 hours out of it instead of 12.
Yeah I mean even with allll side-quests in ME2 (except a few planet scanning ones, cause planet scanning was stupid) I got like 26 hours, with no side-quests I got 40 hours out of DA:O and they were all quality. Not saying ME2's wasn't but its not like its a case of 26 awesome vs 40 boring or something.Dragon Age, it might not have been as flashy or sci-fi but at least I got 40 hours out of it instead of 12.

Dragon Age gives you 40 - 60 hours of gameplay while Mass Effect 2 hands you what is probably the best singleplayer experience ever. It comes down to time, content and personal interests.
I would quit gaming if ME2 is anywhere close to best single player experiance. I had more fun with FFXIII, sometimes it felt like it had more choice going on. :wink:Dragon Age gives you 40 - 60 hours of gameplay while Mass Effect 2 hands you what is probably the best singleplayer experience ever. Mass Effect felt way more interesting and unique.. Where Dragon Age Origins in the end felt too stereotypical of its Forgotten Realms setting.sSubZerOoReally? Because if you were into sci-fi stuff at ll you'd have seen literally everything from Mass Effect somewhere else. It takes from other sci-fi sources like a fat kid at a buffet.
Yeah, I'm perfectly fine with it borrowing, its kind of cool to see because I love sci-fi in general, that said, to call it original or unique would be a lie.It doesn't matter if it stole from anyone, it's a fantastic cinematic experience.

I'd say dragon age
I've played Mass Effect (1) and it felt incredibly mediocre... but that's just me.
I got a little over 20 hours on Mass Effect 1 (playing Mass effect 2 right now) and 55 hours on Dragon Age on one play through without the expansions counted.
I felt the characters in Dragon Age were better and enjoyed their conversation a lot more, especially when traveling.
Add Morgan into your party with Alistair and Leliana and prepare to have fun.
Morgan really made the party alive with all her trolling and flame attacks.
Mass Effect series has more polish but I did not get attached to the characters as much.
Woah man, 20 hours? Thats crazy. I coulden't stand those damn copy paste planet quests, which ALLL sidequests were like. I finished the game in about 12 hours while doing a bunch of those anyways, main story alone would be less than 10, really sad for an RPG.I got a little over 20 hours on Mass Effect 1 (playing Mass effect 2 right now) and 55 hours on Dragon Age on one play through without the expansions counted.

Ooops typos......whatev.
She is awesome though.
I remember the conversation Alistair had with Morrigan after the main character first kisses her.
She makes fun of Alistair and I think she also insults his wang.
The only thing I disliked is that if I did anything good Morrigan would dissprove.
Actually doing almost anything would cause her disapproval.
I am thinking about making this a t-shirt.
Oh and

Yeah I remember that part.
"No, I'm worried that you'll suck all the blood out of my cheeks after you are finished with him!"
(with hawt and soft voice) "If I feel the need to suck on anything of yours, Alistair, you'll be the first to know."
"That was...SO not what I intended."
OMG, that was so epic

Yah Dragon Age had a lot of those parts.
And that was just travel talk.
I used to just stand in place and listen to them all talk.
Some parts were well scripted and painted a picture in my mind.
Like the time Alistair talks about the past as a warden and the drinking contest.

While she was ok she was nothing special.
There was not enough dialog to really get to know her to feel any sort of attachment in the first game.
The second had a little more but still nothing grand.
She did not really have much of a defining personality.
Morrigan > every character in Mass Effect 1 & 2.
