Who cares I like this game even more now that I know it is so huge it cannot fit on two discsSpanks113I think it has more to do with there being a lot of cutscenes than being a huge game. Bethesda manages to fit all their games on one 360 disc cause there's no cutscenes.

Bethesda manages to fit all their games on one 360 disc cause there's no cutscenes. All the mass effect cutsences where done in engine to save space its not as if its full HD video like MGS4. I would say the voice acting and meshes would take up more space. Bethesda managed to fit there game on one disc cause most of the world is empty space occupied by the same meshes over and over. They also tend to have very few unique characters that have alot of voice acting.
hey doesn't this obviously tell ya it's better not to buy the 360 version? It's better on the pc n meant for it. Mass effect 2 would have been better off for the ps3 becuz u would get the ultimate experience.... Uncompressed sounds n more contents .... Shoot bluray can even fit mass effect 1 on the sequal disc.Who cares I like this game even more now that I know it is so huge it cannot fit on one disc

The PS3 ain't getting ME2 or ME1, and even if, it would most likely be an inferior port as always.
microsoft should stop using dvd, they should use blu ray now, but i don't see any problem eventough Mass Effect 2 have 5 discs

me2 on ps3 I can see it now..... Exclusive cutscenes AND uncut scenes, bonus soundtracks , behind the studio n making, mass effect movie, mass effect online multiplayer, mass effect 1 , all of this on one disc. Too bad EA r being quiet bout it[QUOTE="DoomZaW"][QUOTE="iwasgood2u"] hey doesn't this obviously tell ya it's better not to buy the 360 version? It's better on the pc n meant for it. I think you're right on the PS3 not getting them, bnut to be inferior to ME1 the port would have to be really really crappy, as ME1 wasn't much of a technical marvel on the 360 to begin with, with its horrible framerate dips and long loading times in stupid slow moving elevators.
Regardless of those flaws I did love the game though.

is this really an issue.... REALLY!!!!
wayne_kar
No it is not a problem because if i get it i will buy the superior PC version :P
but that will most likely come on 2 DVD's also On PC you can install them and never swap discs, that's the difference.[QUOTE="aroxx_ab"][QUOTE="Parasomniac"] On PC you can install them and never swap discs, that's the difference.wayne_kar
This
you can on the 360 also. just like forza 3 That only works if the game is designed like that. Forza 3 and Oblivion GOTY are an exception because they just install extra content. For a game like Mass Effect, they're not going to want to ignore people without an HDD.[QUOTE="wayne_kar"][QUOTE="aroxx_ab"]you can on the 360 also. just like forza 3 That only works if the game is designed like that. suppose we'll have to wait and see what happens. id be supprised id they dont let you have to option to install the additional disk. but even if it is the case you can not install it the time it would take me to get up and swap a disk would be shorter than the time it takes to install any how
Multiple discs are no big deal but one could say the same thing about online, graphics, story etc. Lets all go back to 16-bit gaming because current gen high quality games are no big deal.... lol. Seriously it sucks, damn Im glad for Blu-ray I don't even care about mandatory installs since I upgraded my HDD.
Does this make sense to anyone, because I thinkits funny, if MS start using blu ray now, nobody will be able to play any games on their 360microsoft should stop using dvd, they should use blu ray now, but i don't see any problem eventough Mass Effect 2 have 5 discs

Good lord your telling me I'm gonna have to get up sometime during the massively long game that is Mass Effect 2 & swap the disc out? WFT!!! That is just stupid, I don't wanna have to get up off the couch. I'm calling & canceling my preorder for the 360 version as that is just too much trouble for me..
^ This. Multiple discs are not an issue... so whats the problem. It would be a problem, if multiple discs where a problem and their not.

I have a gaming rig and i do NOT have a bluray player in it. Nor would i buy one right now. How would the sims sell? the sims is the most casual game out there. Mum isnt going to go buy a laptop woth bluray for her 12 yr old daughter to play the sims on[QUOTE="-ScorpionKing"]

 Who actually cares about Disc-Swapping? You just stand up press the eject button; remove the disc and insert the other disc :PBloodSeeker1337
I may be in the minority but I dislike disc-swapping, I didn't like it back in 1999 and I don't like it now. I like to have one awesome disc, 2 discs means your twice as likely to scratch it or lose a disc :P seriously though it's outdated.
[QUOTE="XenogearsMaster"]I think Microsoft charges the developers if they use more than one disc and also loses profit for the cost of an extra disc.wayne_karhow much rummaging around did it take to pull that statement out your arse actually they do charge after a certain amount of discs. John Carmack brought this issue up when the whole Rage fuss was a big topic on System Wars.
