Yeah I have very high hopes for XIII. With a little luck, it will provide me enough FF goodness until XIV arrives and sucks away all my gaming time...

I don't care how jaggy ME2 may look. It still wins by default since you're trying to compare it to a crappy JRPG. What's more it's artstyle is far more appealing to my eyes.

And to those complaining about the jagginess, it's a screenshot! Screenshots never do games justice.

well the first mass effect was pretty bad and final fantasy is my favorite franchise so its a no brainer for me

That gameplay shot of FF is hilarious, talk about bad ground textures, thats one of the worst ive ever seen. Sure the cutscenes look nice but the gameplay looks like trash.

But whatever i can't stand JRPGs so ME2 all the way.

i played me on pc....it was pretty jaggy, if they figured out how to add aa in it without killing the fps too bad, thats really hard in u3 by the way or else more dev would.

UE3 is capable of full AA but only in DX10 mode, ME only used DX9 so used the typical edge blur effect all UE3 games use.

Its possible ME2 may use UE3 with DX10/11 support so it can use AA, but i doubt it.

Also Batman can use AA in DX9 mode but only on Nvidia based cards. Mirrors Edge can also use AA in DX9 mode but iam not sure how.

So theres hope...sort of :D

Even though you can't really compare the two, if I had to choose, I'll go with Mass Effect 2, I haven't enjoyed a Final Fantasy game since VI.

This. Maybe I'm just getting sick of the turn based combat. But I feel bored as hell playing Final Fantasy games now. Mass Effect is what I'm going to get for sure. But I'll keep my eyes on FF13.

JRPGs just don't compare to WRPGs in this day and age (IMO), so I'll have to go with ME2. I saw some FF13 gameplay and was throughly unimpressed. Which is weird because i don't even own a system that can run ME2:?

I have a feeling Versus will make it to the West by the end of next year. And I forgot to add Alan Wake. One of my most hyped games. But, if Earth No More remarkably comes out next year, then GotY will be no contest. No game will ever stand up to the insane amazingness that is/will be Earth No More.

FF13 has the better graphics IMHO. It's tough for me to say which one I'm looking foward to more though. I didn't much care for ME1 but turn based games aren't usually my thing.

Both are probably going to end up being great titles, but at the moment I am looking forward to see how Final Fantasy XIII story turns out.

ME2 even more modified to stop pop-ins, elevator ride loading, and runs smoothly.

My most anticipated game by far is FF13.

Mass effect 2 is my second most anticipated game.

I do not understand this general mentality. i mean i can understand that some people prefer WRPG's over JRPG's. I love the rpg genre in general, but i prefer jrpg games.

JRPG's do what they do, and the same for WRPG's. I don't think either could replace the other. I would prefer to keep the versatility within the rpg spectrum.

Yeah FF cutscenes will be amazing. But gameplay yeah low res textures for sure. This is why Mass Effect has better all around graphics then FF13
